Item I give & devise my two messuages or tenements & the lands thereunto belonging scituate & beeing in Smarden in the said County of Kent now or late in the sevall occupations of Peter Went and Peter Amois? unto my loving sonne George Stace his heires & assignes for ever
Upon this condition neverthelesse that he the said George Stace my sonne his heires & assignes shall well & truely pay unto my loving wife Elizabeth and her assignes One Annuity or yearely Rent Charge of Twelve pounds of lawfull money of England The same to be paid quarterly & every quarter of a yeare unto her the said Elizabeth & her assignes for & during the terme of her naturall life in lieu of her Jointure & Dower
And for default of payment of the said Annuity or yearely rent Charge of Twelve pounds or any part or parcell thereof I will & grant that my said wife Elizabeth & her assignes shall sufer into & upon the before mentioned two messuages or tenements & the lands thereunto belonging or into any p�te or p�cell thereof & distraine And the distresse or distresses then & there to be founde to detaine and keepe untill the said Annuity or yearely Rent Charge of Twelve pounds & every p�te & p�cell thereof shalbe fully satisfied & paid unto the said Elizabeth & her assignes
Item I give & bequeath unto my loving daughter Margaret the nowe wife of Richard Kyte the younger of
Tenterden aforesaid husbandman five shillings
Item I give to the said Richard Kyte my sonne in lawe five shillings
Item I give & bequeath unto George Kyte my grandchild sonne of the said Richard Kyte & of my said
daughter Margaret fifty pounds of lawfull money of England the same to be paid unto him the said
George Kyte at his age of One and Twenty yeares
And I hereby will that my said daughter Margarett (if she shall happen to survive the said Richard Kyte her now husband) shall receive & have the interest of the said fifty pounds untill her said sonne George shall attaine the said age of one & twenty [years of] age for & towards his education
Item I give & bequeath unto my sister Sarah the now wife of Thomas Gray tenn shillings
Item I give & bequeath unto my said wife Elizabeth my best bedd bedsteddle & furniture thereunto belonging And such other of my household stuffe (as she shall make choise of) to the value of five pounds by appraisement of indifferent persons
Item I will that my Executor hereafter named shall pay unto my said daughter Margaret Kyte twenty pounds of lawfull money of England within two moneths next after the decease of her said now husband Richard Kyte (if she shall happen to survive him)
And the rest & residue of my goods chattells cattell and personal estate (after my just debts paid
funerall expences & for probate of my last Will & Testament discharged & other necessary disbursm�ts
about my estate defrayed) I give and bequeath unto my said sonne George Stace
Whom I make constitute & ordaine Executor of this my last Will & Testament
In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will & Testament consisting of two sheetes of paper affixed
together sett to my hand & seale the day & yeare first before written
