In the Name of God Amen I Paul Strowde of Waltham in the County of Kent, Yeoman at this present being the fifte daye of June in the yeare of our Lord God according to the accompt used in England one Thousand six hundred fiftie and two being very weake and sicke in body yet of perfect sense and memory (for which I give all possible praise and thankes to Almighty God) doe make and ordaine this my last will (and) testament in manner and forme following (That is to saye)
First and principally I give and commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to the earth from whence it first (came?) assuredly beleeving that both my soule and body shall be united to: gether againe at the Generall resurrection and second appearing of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and soe to live and raigne with him eternally
And for that porcon of worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to blesse me I do give devise ad dispose thereof as followeth vizt.

I give and bequeath unto Sarah Housenden the daughter of Thomas Housenden of the Cittie of Canterbury Yeoman one house and grounds thereunto belonging Scituate lyeing and beinge in Sandwich in the County of Kent after the decease of the said Thomas Housenden which was late in the occupacon of Mr. Hope? Tylden and in the meane tyme my will and mynde is that the said Thomas Housenden her father have and enjoy the same dureing his naturall Life

Item I give and bequeath To Anne Housenden my god daughter And daughter of the said Thomas Housenden the somme of tenne pounds of lawfull money of England which my Intencon is shalbe paid by the said Sara Housenden out of the house and ground before by me to her bequeathed forthwith after it shall fall into her possession by her said fathers decease

Item I give to Thomas Housenden sonne of the aforenamed Thomas Housenden the somme of two shillings and six pence
Item I give and bequeath to the first menconed Thomas Housenden (that is Thomas Housenden the elder my brother in Lawe) the one halfe of all my estate unbequeathed reall and personal
And the other halfe of my estate reall and personall to my Sister Joane Wraight and her husband William Wraighte of Barson in the County of Kent Yeoman

Item I give and bequeath unto my said brother in lawe Thomas Housenden and William Wraight twenty pounds over and above what is before bequeathed due from Sir Thomas Palmer for my wages And fiftie pounds more due to me uppon bond from Mr. Henry Harfleet and fiftie shillings due unto me uppon bond from Mrs. Sibilla Palmer and fiftie shillings from Mrs. Jane Bryan which last menconed Sommes are to be equally devided and shared Betweene them

Item I give and bequeath unto Christian Mu...y and Isabell Holmes the two Nurses that attend mee over and above their wages to each of them the somme of five shillings to be paid them forthwith after my decease

And all the rest of my goods Chattells and estate reall and personall And all whatsoever in this World can be called or claymed as myne I give and bequeath to my said brother in law Thomas Housenden
And I doe hereby nominate and appoint my said brother in law Thomas Housenden and William Wraight executors of this my last will and testament And they to pay my debts and discharge my necessary funerall expences
And I doe conclude this my last will and testament, and doe utterly renounce, disannull and make voyd all former and other wills, testaments, Codicills, legacies, bequests, executors and Supervisors

In Witnes whereof I the said Paul Strowde have to this my last will and testament conteyning two sheets of paper set my hand and seale, That is at the bottom of each sheet, And at the toppe of both fixed together the day and yeare above written
Sealed pronounced and declared as the last will and testament of the said Paul Strowd in the presence of us

This will was proved at London the sixteenth day of June in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand six hundred fiftie and two before Sir Nathaniell Brent, Knight, Doctor of Lawes and Master or keeper of the Prerogative Court by the oath of Thomas Housenden and William Wraight Executors in the said Will named To whome was committed Administracon of all and singuler the goods, Chattells and debts of the said deceased They being first sworne well and truely to administer
