This is the last Will and Testament of me John Stubbersfield of Strood in the County of Kent Sadler and Harness maker which I make publish and declare in manner and form following that is to say

I give and bequeath All and every my Goods Chattels Rights Credits and Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be or consist after payment thereout of all my just debts and funeral Expences and the costs and charges of proving this my Will unto my Son John Stubbersfield and my Son in Law Levinous Verdon Upon trust nevertheless and to and for the sole separate and independent use and benefit of my dear wife Sarah for and during the term of her natural life

and I do hereby direct that the said John Stubbersfield and Levinous Verdon and the survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor shall and do so long as they may think proper carry on and continue the business or trade of a Sadler Harness and Collar maker in which I am now engaged with Mr John Gouge for the sole use and benefit of her my said wife for and during the term of her natural life

and from and immediately after her decease then I direct that the part or share to which I am entitled of and in the said business shall by the said John Stubbersfield and Levinous Verdon or the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor sold and disposed of for the best price and upon the best terms that can at that time or at the time of the sale and disposal thereof be gotten for the same

And as to the monies to arise by such sale and also as to all and every my said Goods Chattels Rights Credits and Personal Estate and Effects immediately after the decease of my said Wife Sarah I direct that the same shall be equally divided between and amongst all and every my said Children as well daughters as sons and the Issue of such of them my said Children as shall be dead leaving Issue at the time of my Wife�s decease such Issue taking his her or their parent�s share only unto whom I do give and bequeath the same accordingly

And I do hereby declare that they the said John Stubbersfield and Levinous Verdon and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such survivor shall not be answerable or accountable for any loss or misfortune which may happen to my said trust Estate in carrying on the said business or otherwise unless the same shall happen by or through their wilful neglect or default respectively and that each of them shall be chargeable only for such loss as may be occasioned by his own wilful neglect and default

And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said John Stubbersfield and Levinous Verdon joint Executors of this my Will and revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I do declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I John Stubbersfield the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty one _ John Stubbersfield
