In the Name of God Amen The iijrd day of Aprell the yere of our Lord God A thousand fyve & fyvehundreth three score and eyght [1568]
I Elen Studd of the parryshe of Herne being sick in bodye but of whole mynd and in good and perfyt Remembrance, Laude and prayse bee unto Almyghtye God doe make, ordeyne and dyspose this my presnt Testament and last wyll in manner and forme followinge, that ys to saye
Fyrste I bequeth my soull to Almyghtye God, my maker and Redeemer And my bodye to be buried in the Churche yeard of Herne aforsayd

Fyrte I gyve and bequethe unto the poore people of the parryshe of Herne aforsayd twenty shillings to be gyven unto them in the daye of my buryall by myne Executors

The Resydew of all my moveable goods and C[h]attells, my debtes and legacys fyrste contented and payed, I gyve unto my brother Richard Hawllet and to my Syster his Wyfe Whome I make my trewe and faythfull Executors, to see my debtes payed and my Legacys fullfilled according to this my Last Wyll

Thys ys the laste Wyll of me the sayd Elen Studd of Herne aforsayd as touching the disposition of all my Lands and Tenements

Fyrste I gyve and bequethe unto Richard Hawlet and unto my Syster his wyfe, my house at Belting wtall [with all] my lands therunto belonginge to them or to the longest lyver of them bothe And after theyre decease I will the sayd house wtall my lands thereunto belonginge shall remayne unto the Children of theyre bodyes for ever
