To Maria Elizabeth, the daughter of my Brother John Swift whatever benefit may accrue to my Estate at the death of the aforesaid John Swift from property of which he is tenant for life
To Mary Chambers to George Brook Chambers and to Mary Loose the Wife of William Loose of Queenborough five pounds as a token
of my esteem
To Ellen Coplestone Good the daughter of Henry Good one hundred pounds
And the Residue of my Estate to Mary Ann Good the Wife of Henry Good of the Office of Her Majesty’s Pay Master General or in case of her death to her executors administrators

In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury In the Goods of Matild otherwise Matilda Swift Spinster deceased
Appeared Personally The Reverend Charles Mills Skottowe fellow of Jesus College in the University of Oxford Clerk and made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Matild otherwise Matilda Swift formerly of the Parish of Minster in the Isle of Sheppey in the County of Kent but lately of No. 1 Devonshire Road Wandsworth Road in the County of Surry Spinster deceased the said Will beginning this: “I Matilda Swift at present residing in the Parish of Minster” (and) ending thus: “dated this ____ April 1846” and thus subscribed “Matilda Swift” and being now hereto annexed
and having noticed the day of the date of the said Will is not supplied and that there are two
attestation clauses to the said Will, to wit, one at the bottom of the first side thereof and without the
names of any Witnesses and the other at the top of the second side thereof with the names of the
deponant and Thomas Mockett subscribed thereto he further made oath that the said Will was only
executed by the deceased on the eleventh day of April last and that the deceased finding that she had
carried the first attestation clause to the bottom of the sheet of paper and had left no room for the
signatures of the Witnesses wrote words and figures “dated this _____ of April 1846” and the second
attestation clause at the top of the second side of the sheet and the deponent and the said Thomas
Mockett thereupon signed their names beneath the said second clause

On the fourteenth day of November 1846 the said Charles Mills Skottowe was duly sworn to the
truth of this affidavit by virtue of the annexed Commission
Before me Martin Johnson Green Officiating Minister of St. Michaels Oxford
Proved at London 25th November 1846 before the Worshipful Augustus Feodeir Barford Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oath of Henry Good Esquire the sole Executor to whom Admon. [Administration] was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
