This is the Last Will and Testam[en]t of me Catherine Terry of the City of Canterbury Spinster
First I humbly Resign my Soul to Almighty God hoping for salvation thro' our Lord Jesus Christ and my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decently Interred and my Temporal Estate I dispose of as follows

I Give and bequeath unto my Brother Ralph Terry and to my Brother William Terry and to my Sister Mary Grove and to my Niece Margaret Solley Daughter of my last Sister Elizabeth Denne to each and every of them ten pounds apiece of lawful Money of Great Britain

Also to the Maid Servant that shall chance to live with me at the time of my decease I bequeath three pounds
To the poor of the Parish where I shall be die I bequeath fifty shillings
and to the poor of the parish where I shall be buried I bequeath fifty shillings
And I will and direct that all the above mentioned Legacies shall be paid within twelve Months next after my decease

Also I Give and bequeath to my Godson Terry Marsh the sum of two hundred pounds three per Cent Bank Annuities reduced
In Trust that he the said Terry Marsh his Executors and Administrators shall pay or Cause to be paid all the Dividends or Annual Produce thereof unto my sister Mary Grove during her natural life for her sole and separate use
and after her decease In Trust as to twenty pounds thereof for the use and benefit of my Godson John Chalklen to be paid to him when he shall attain the Age of twenty one years; and as to other twenty pounds thereof to my Godson William Chalklen to be paid to him when he shall attain the Age of twenty one years;
and as to; and as to one hundred and sixty pounds thereof In Trust for the use and benefit of all the Children of my Brother Ralph Terry and to the use and benefit of all the Children of my late Sister Margaret Ward equally to be divided between them

Also I Give and bequeath unto the said Terry Marsh the Sum of one hundred pounds three per Cent Bank Annuities reduced for the trouble he may have in (performing) this my Will and the Trust thereby reposed in him

And as to all the Residue of my Personal Estate (after payment of my Just Debts, Legacies and Funeral Expences) I bequeath the same unto the said Terry Marsh and to the said Mary Grove
And I appoint the said Terry Marsh and the said Mary Grove Executor and Executrix of this my Will and I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me at any time made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 14th day of Feby. in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy two.

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Catherine Terry as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have attested the same in the presence of the said Testator and every of us the said Witnesses did see the others Subscribe their respective Names

This Will was proved at London on the fourteenth day of August in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy two before the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Terry Marsh and Mary Grove (Wife of Thomas Grove) the Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first Sworn by Commission duly to Administer.
