lease and personal estate.
(The following is ruled out - `I give unto STEPHEN THATCHER, son of my brother RICHARD �4
within 3 months next after my the decease of my brother RICHARD).
I give unto JOHN POTTYN my old and faithful servant, the sum of 40/-.
I give unto MARTHA MITCHELL, daughter of WILLIAM MITCHELL, the sum of �4 at age 21 years.
I give unto MARY GUILDFORD one of the daughters of WILLIAM GUILDFORD, late of Bredgar,
gentleman, my late kinsman, deceased, the sum of 40/-
I give unto my daughter ELIZABETH, now the wife of THOMAS CATHILL (?) of Sittingbourne,
Gentleman the sum of ... to be paid to her one year after my decease.
I give unto my daughter ANNE, now the wife of JOHN GODDIN of Maidstone, Gentleman the sum,
of one hundred pounds.
I give to my son ROBERT THATCHER and to JOHN GODDIN, my son in law �4 apiece and make
them overseers of my will, desiring them to aid my executrix hereinafter named.
I give to my son THOMAS THATCHER �500 to be paid to him at the age of 21 over and above his estate in land, and all the residue of my goods, cattle, chattels, meadow, money, plate, debts, lease and personal estate whatsoever, my debts, legacies and funeral expenses being first discharged, I give to ELIZABETH, my loving wife, who I make my sole executrix.
As touching the disposal of my land etc..
I give to my son THOMAS THATCHER all my messuages lands tenements lying in Hollingbourne
which I lately purchased of EDWARD MANNING Esquire and ANN his wife, for his heirs forever,
after the decease of ELIZABETH my wife.
I give and bequeath unto NICHOLAS THATCHER and WILLIAM THATCHER my two other sons
my lands tenements etc. lying in Appledore and Kennenton in Kent which I purchased of JOHN
KNELL and THOMAS KNELL, and also all those lands and tenements which I purchased of
THOMAS MOGG Esquire and THOMAS HAYSTED, gent., lying in Appledore, and to their heirs
after the decease of my wife ELIZABETH. If either die then the property to be divided between the
other and my son ROBERT THATCHER of Wormshill aforesaid, gentleman.
My wife shall receive and take all profit of my lands and tenements given to my sons THOMAS, NICHOLAS and WILLIAM THATCHER during the term of her natural life in lien and recompense of her jointure she paying and allowing unto them money towards their education and maintenance, that is to say to my son THOMAS THATCHER �35 by the year over and above the annual rent of �8 herein bequeathed him. To my son NICHOLAS the sum of �30 and to my son WILIAM the sum of �30 by the year.
I give to THOMAS THATCHER the eldest son of my son ROBERT THATCHER my tenement etc. in
Leeds, now in the occupation of ...... GOODLANDS.
I give to THOMAS GODDEN, son of my daughter ANN, wife of JOHN Godden, Esquire, my two
tenements etc. in Leeds now in the occupation of SH... and SPARKES.
