In the Name of God Amen I Ingram Thomas of the Town and Borough of Deal in the County of Kent Mariner being in an Ill state of Health but of sound and disposing mind and memory Do this Fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and seventy two Make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)

First I give and devise All and singular my Freehold Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments parts purparts and shares right Title and Interest of and in and to any Freehold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever in possession Reversion Remainder or expectancy
(charged and chargeable with and subject and liable to the payment of the Legacy or Sum of One Hundred and sixty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain by me herein after given and bequeathed unto my Brother in Law Thomas Minter of Deal aforesaid Boatbuilder)
Unto my three sisters
Elizabeth the wife of Samuel Rammell of Deal aforesaid, Breeches maker;
Mary the wife of George Larkin of Deal aforesaid, Baker
and Hester the wife of John Baker of Deal aforesaid, Mariner
,
equally to be divided between them the said Elizabeth Rammell, Mary Larkin and Hester Baker and their severall and respective Heirs and Assigns for ever, share and share alike as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants

Also I give and bequeath unto my said brother in Law Thomas Minter of Deal aforesaid Boatbuilder, his Executors and Administrators the Legacy or Sum of One hundred and Sixty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain which I direct shall be paid to him or them by my said three Sisters (whom I have herein after appointed Executrixes of this my Will) within six Calendar Months next after my decease

And do also direct that the same Legacy shall not on any account whatsoever be deemed a lapsed Legacy and that the receipt Release or Discharge of my said brother in Law Thomas Minter his Executors or Administrators shall be a sufficient Discharge as well of my said Freehold Estates and every Part thereof as also of the said Devisees thereof and my said Executrixes of and for all the same Legacy and every part thereof
And my Mind and Will is that the said Thomas Minter his Executors and Administrators shall as soon as he or they shall have received the same Legacy Stand and be Possessed thereof upon the Trusts and to and for the several Uses intents and purposes following (that is to say)

Upon Trust That he the said Thomas Minter his Executors and Administrators shall and do pay apply and dispose of the said Legacy or Sum of One Hundred and Sixty Pounds And all the Interest Dividends and Profits thereof (if any) for and towards the Maintenance education and bring(ing) up or otherwise for the use and benefit of my Nephew Thomas Minter, Son of him my said Brother in Law Thomas Minter, untill he my said Nephew shall attain to the age of one and twenty years
And all the overplus thereof which shall then remain undisposed of for the purposes aforesaid shall and do then pay to him my said Nephew Thomas Minter to and for his own use and benefit

But in case my said Nephew Thomas Minter shall happen to die under the said age of One and twenty years then my mind and will is And I do hereby will and direct that the said Sum of One hundred and Sixty Pounds or such part thereof as shall then remain undisposed of for the purposes aforesaid shall go and belong And I do hereby in that Case give and bequeath the same unto my said brother in Law Thomas Minter his Executors Administrators and Assigns to and for his and their own use

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods, Chattels, Effects, Debts due and owing to me, money, securities for Money, Household Goods, Plate, China, Household Linnen, Household Furniture and all other my personal Estate
Save and except my Shares in several Deal boats which it is my Will shall go to and belong and I do hereby give and bequeath to my said brother in Law John Baker to and for his own use whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever the same shall exist and be at the time of my decease)
from and after payment of all my debts, the said Thomas Minter's said Legacy my funeral charges and the charges of proving and executing this my Will I Give and bequeath the same and every part thereof (except as aforesaid) unto my said three Sisters Elizabeth Rammell, Mary Larkin and Hester Baker and to their several and respective Executors Administrators and Assigns equally to be divided between them as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants
And my mind and will is that my said brother in Law John Baker shall take possession of all the said Shares of the said Boats and their earnings immediately upon my decease

And I make constitute and appoint my said three Sisters Elizabeth Rammell, Mary Larkin and Hester Baker Joint Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament And Lastly I do hereby revoke all former Wills

In Witness whereof I the said Ingram Thomas have to this my last Will and testament contained in two Sheets of Paper affixed together to the first Sheet thereof set my hand and to this Second and last Sheet thereof my hand and seal the day and year first above written

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Ingram Thomas the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto Subscribed our Names as Witnesses at his request in his Presence and in the Presence of each other

The before Registered Will of Ingram Thomas deceased was proved the First day of June 1772 before the Revd. John Tucker, Clerk, Surrogate to the Worshipful Andrew Coltee Duracel, Doctor of Laws, Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury, lawfully constituted by the oaths of Elizabeth Rammell, Mary Larkin and Hester Baker, the Executrixes named in the said Will, They being first Sworn well and truly to perform the same &c.

Ingram Thomas was buried at St. Leonard, Deal on 27 May 1772.
Ingram was baptised 5 Oct 1729, s. of Nathaniel & Elizabeth Thomas at St. Leonard's.
