In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Tilden of Orpington in the county of Kent Shopkkeeper do make and publish this my last will and Testament in the manner following (that is to say)

I order and direct that all my just debts and my funeral and testamentary expences shall be paid and satisfied as soon as may be after my death And I nominate and appoint my dear wife Elizabeth Tilden and my son Charles Tilden and my brother in law William Sales of Down in the said county Victualler executrix and executors of this my Will

also I give and devise unto my said dear wife Elizabeth Tilden and her assigns during the Term of her natural life all that my freehold messuage or tenement wherein I now dwell situate in Orpington aforesaid with the garden outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging she and they keeping the same in good tenantable repaid and condition and properly and constantly insured from loss or damage by fire as is now done by me

and from and immediately after the decease of my said wife I give and devise all my said messuage or tenement garden and premises before mentioned unto my three sons Charles Tilden Thomas Tilden and John Tilden and to my daughter Catherine Tilden and to their several and respective heirs and assigns for ever as Tenants in common

also I give and bequeath unto each of my four children viz Charles Tilden Thomas Tilden Catherine Tilden and John Tilden the sum of twenty pounds apiece of lawful money to be paid to such of them as at the time of my death shall have attained the age of twenty one years within six months next after my decease and to such as them as shall not then then have attained that age when and as they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years

and subject to the payment of my just debts and the before mentioned Legacies I hereby give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my monies and securities for money stock in the funds stock in trade household goods and personal estate whatsoever unto her my sd Wife Elizabeth Tilden to and for her own use and benefit and the better to enable her to bring up and support my younger children provided and if she continues my widow

but in case my said wife shall marry again then I revoke the bequest of such the residue of my personal estate and business so given to her and her appointment as executrix as aforesaid and in that case do from and immediately after such her second marriage give and bequeath the same rest and residue of my personal estate unto the said Charles Tilden and William Sales upon trust that they or the survivors of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor shall and do immediately afterwards make sale of my said stock in Trade and business and household goods and effects and convert the whole thereof into ready money in the best way they can and upon further trust to pay share and divide the net monies to arise therefrom in equal fifth parts unto and between my said wife and my four children before named share and share alike to whom in that case I give & bequeath the same

and hereby revoking all other wills by me made I declare this only to be my last will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Tilden the Testator have to this my Will contained in two sheets of paper to each sheet set my hand and to this last affixed my seal the eleventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirteen Thos Tilden
