In the name of God amen the last day of July Anno domini 1624 I James Tong of Tunstall in the County of Kent gent, being well in body and of perfect remembrance praysed bee Almighty God doe make and ordeine this my last will and testament in manner and Forme following :
First I Comend my sowle into the hands of Almighty God hoping to bee saved by the death and passion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and my body to the earth the mother of all things to be buried at the discrecon of my executrix hereafter named

Item I give to the poore of the parishe of Tunstall aforesaid forty shillings
Item I give to my daughter Guildfords Children fourty shillings equally to be devided betweene them

Item I give to Elizabeth Tong my wife all those five peeces or parcells of errable land called by the names of the Sheere with, lymaker eight Acres, great lymaker and the two Goyes now in the occupacon of my sonne James Tong and are situate, lying and being in the parish of Tunstall and Bredgar; to have and to hold to her and her assignes for and during the naturall life of the said Elizabeth Tong, my Wife, shee paying my sonne Thomas iiij � yearely during her life;
and after her decease I give the foresaid five peeces or parcells of errable land unto my foresaid sonne Thomas Tong, to have and to hold to him and his heires for ever

Item I give all my goods and Chattells unbequeathed my debts and legacies and Funerall expences being discharged unto the aforesaid Elizabeth Tong my wife whom I make sole executrix of this my last testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand the day and yeares aforesaid: By mee James Tonge, witnesses to this will
