Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Joane Tookey one parcell of land called the Mill banke lying in the Levell of Dengmarke
[Dengemarsh] and now in the occupacon of Joane Bate, my Mother in Lawe
and two parcells of Land conteyning by estimacon five Acres and a halfe now in the occupation of William Puddiwax lying in the same Levell
Also three Acres more lying at Konlade? and in the occupation of Edward Masters
and the moyetie [moiety] of the barne and barne close neere the Ripe and now in the occupation of William Puddiwax
all which parcells I lately purchased of my Mother and brother Bate
likewise one peece of Fresh Marshland in the parish of Brensette [Brenzett] and in the occupation of Thomas Wells and to her heirs for ever
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Joane the reversion of twenty pounds a yeare issueing out of the lands of Mr. Peter Short my
brother in lawe lying in Allington and of right apperteyning to me after the decease of my brother Smith Tookey and to her and her
heyres for ever
Item I give and bequeath moreover to my foresayd daughter Joane three hundred pounds to be paid unto her at the age of eighteene years or day of
marriage which shall first happen
Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Tookey one peece or parcell of Land lying in Burmarsh conteyning by estimacon fowerteene Acres
in the occupation of Thomas Paine, and to her heyres for ever
Item I give unto my sayd daughter Mary likewise three hundred pounds to be paid unto her at the age of eighteene yeares or day of marriage which
shall first happen

And in case that either of those my daughters depart this life before the day of marriage or the age of
eighteene yeares then my will and meaninge is that the survivor shall have and enjoye the others portion
And if it shall happen that both these my daughters should depart this life before the day
and tyme before specified and without issue then I will and bequeath my owne lands to
Bartholomew Tookey my brothers sonne and unto the heyres of his body lawfully begotten and for
default of such issue unto the children of my sister Blechenden and their heyres for ever
And the lands that came by my wife thirteene Acres on the p[ar]ish of Hope and fower Acres in Dengmarsh and fower at Romney or Hope I will & bequeath unto the two daughters of my brother in Lawe John Bate lately deceased, Katherine & Anne, equally to be devided betweene them and to their heyres for ever
Provided that Sybbell my now wife shall have the proffitts of all my lands during her naturall Life
whome I make & ordeyne sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament
And to whome I give and bequeath all my woodlands lying in Ruckinge during her naturall life and after her decease unto my
two daughters Joane and Mary equally to be devided betweene them and to their heyres for ever
And my debts and legacies being discharged and paid I give and bequeath unto my sayd wife the residue & remaynder of all my goods & estate
Lastly I give and bequeath unto my loving Kinsman and brother Robert Wilcock & Smith Tookey five pounds a peece whome I make & appointe Overseers of this my last will & Testament
In witnesse whereof I have to this my last will & Testament being three sides of paper sett my hand & to the last of them my hand & seale

Read, published & declared as the last will & Testament of mee Thomas Tookey in the presence of
Robert Wilcock and Edward Master
This Will was proved at Westmtr [Westminster] the twenty nynth of June in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred fifty three before the Judges for probate of wills and graunting of Ad'ons [Administrations] according to an Act of Parliament entitled an Act for probate of Wills & graunting Ad'ons by the Oath of Sybell Tookey the Relicte of the deceased and sole Executrix therein named To whome Ad'on of all & singuler the goods chattells & debts of the sayd deceased which any manner of way concerne the same will was graunted & committed shee being first legally sworne by virtue of a Commission in that behalfe issued forth well and faithfully to administer the same.
The one & thirtieth day of October 1656 there issued forth L'res of ad'con. [Letters of Administration] to Joane Tookey the daughter & only Child of Thomas Tookey dec[eas]ed To Ad[ministe]r the goods ch[att]ells & debts of the said dec'ed according to the tenor and effect of his said Will (w'ch were left unadministered by Sibill Tookey his relict his Sole Executrix &c.) To whom Ad'con was committed &c. Shee being first by Com[missi]on legally Sworne truely to Ad'ster [Administer] &c.

Thomas Tookey, 27, gentleman, bachelor of St. Paul, Canterbury married Sibyl Bate, 24 single(woman), of Lydd, d. of Thomas Bate, gentleman, who
consents. At St. Clement, Old Romney, Kent on 28 Apr 1631, by Licence.
Their children: Joane Tookey 27 May 1632; Mary Tookey bap. 18 Jan 1634 – both baptised at All Saints, Lydd, Kent.
