In the name of God Amen In the yeare of our Lord Christ one thousand sixe hundred fiftye and three
I John Trippett of the parishe of Deale and Countie of Kent, Pylott [pilot] beinge sicke in bodye but I praise the Lord of perfect health and memorie of minde doe publishe and declare this my last will & testament to the view of all the world in manner and forme followinge
First I give and bequeath my Soule into the handes of Almightie God my Creator and to Jesus Christ my Redeemer by whose meritorious death and passion I hope to obtaine everlastinge salvation And after my decease my body to be buryed in the Churchyard of Deale in such decent manner as shalbe by my Executrix thought decent and fittinge
And for all other my goodes, houses and all other my worldlie estate wherewith God hath endued [endowed] mee I give and bequeath to my freinds as followeth

Item I give and bequeath to Susan my now wife whome I constitute and appoint to be the full and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament And to see all Covenantes therein conteyned fulfilled accordinge to order, my purse, keyes and girdle and all other my moneys, Cloathes, debts & demands due to me upon Specialtye or without specialtye, together with my now mansion house and backside called or knowne by the name of the Rose in Deale and now in my occupacon or possession, together with all my goodes and chattells of houshold stuffe, beddinge, tables, formes, stooles and all other materialls of bedsteads and houshold stuffe whatsoever, or of what kinde soever (one Cipresse Chest excepted) To have and to hould the given and graunted premisses to my said Wife Susan dureinge her naturall life without molestation or disturbance of any person or persons whomesoever, shee first payinge of my debtes and funerall charges

Item I give and bequeath to my sonne Will Trippett ymediately after the decease of my nowe wife Susann Trippett All and singuler my nowe mansion house and the backside to vest, remain and be to him my said sonne William Trippett and to the heires lawfully begotten of his bodie for ever
he payinge unto my Grandchild Susan Trippett daughter of my sonne Thomas Trippett deceased, the sume of Fortie shillinges of Lawfull moneys within three monethes after my wife Susan her decease
And soe the said mansion house and backsides to vest and remaine unto him my said Sonne Will and heires without any other limitation of reversion

Item my will and pleasure is that after my decease and the decease of my nowe wife Susan All my goodes and houshold stuffe of all sortes of bedsteads, beddinge woollen and lynnen, plate, brasse, Tables, formes, stooles and all other materialls of houshold of what quantitye or qualitye whatsoever that my wife Susan shall die seized or possessed of shall vest remaine and be to my daughter Sarah the wife of John Sprusonn and her heires for ever without any other lymitacon or revercon [reversion]

And further my Will and pleasure is That if any of my heires or Successors shall any waies abrogate or infringe any article, Clause, Covenant or agreement conteyned Specified or declared in this my last Will and Testament, or shall comence any Suite in Lawe one against another the residue of them that the first shalbe soe comenced against shall forthwith pay to the plaintiffe five shillings and the plaintiffe to be utterlye debarred of any Legacie or Donation herein given and graunted forever

This Will was Proved at London before the Judges for probate of Wills and grauntinge administracons &c the fifth day of July in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand Sixe hundred fiftye five by the oathe of Susan Trippett his Relict and Sole Executrix &c To whome Administacon was comitted &c, shee beinge first sworne by Comission truely to Administer
