I give and devise All that my freehold messuage or tenement Yard Summerhouse and Premises thereto belonging as the same are now in my own occupation situate on the North side of West Street Gravesend aforesaid formerly the Estate and Property of my late Father William Gladwell deceased with the Appurtenances unto and to the use of my Neice Mary Ann Twiss her heirs and assigns for ever
Item I do hereby in pursuance of all and every powers and authorities vested in or enabling me in this behalf and in exercise and execution thereof Give devise direct and appoint All that my freehold messuage or tenement yard and buildings thereto belonging now in the occupation of Mr John Hooker situate on the east side of and adjoining to the said messuage or tenement and premises in my own occupation in West Street Gravesend aforesaid also formerly the Estate and Property of my said late Father unto and to the use of my Neice Sophia Gladwell Troughton the Wife of Mr Medhurst Troughton her heirs and assigns for ever
Item I give and devise unto my Neice Elizabeth Pearson Wife of Mr Charles Pearson All that my freehold Messuage or Tenement and Premises situate in Pepper Croft Street in the Parish of Milton next Gravesend in the said County of Kent which I sometime since purchased from Messieurs William and Thomas Pink with the Appurtenances To hold the same unto my said Neice Elizabeth Pearson for the term of her natural life to and for her own separate use and benefit
And from and immediately after the decease of the said Elizabeth Pearson I give and devise the said Messuage or
Tenement and Premises in Pepper Croft Street aforesaid unto and to the use of all and every the Child and Children of the said Elizabeth Pearson
who shall be living at the time of her decease their his and her heirs and assigns for ever and if there shall be more than one Child living at the
decease of the said Elizabeth Pearson in equal shares as Tenants in Common
But in case the said Elizabeth Pearson shall depart this life without leaving any Child her surviving then I give and devise the said
Messuage or Tenement and Premises in Pepper Croft Street aforesaid unto and to the use of the said Elizabeth Pearson for ever
Item I give and bequeath unto of the said Elizabeth Pearson the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds Sterling to and for her own separate use and benefit independent of her husband And I direct that her receipt alone notwithstanding any coverture shall be a good and effectual discharge to my Executrix and Executor for the said sum of two hundred and fifty pounds
And as to all the Rest and residue of my Property both real and Personal which I may be entitled to at the time of my decease or which I may have power to dispose of I give devise and bequeath direct and appoint the same and every part thereof unto and to the use of my Neice Mary Ann Twiss her heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely
and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Neice Mary Ann Twiss Executrix and my friend George Ware of Blackman Street Southwark in the County of Surry Gentleman Executor of this my Will
And hereby revoking all former and other Wills and Testamentary Dispositions by me at any time heretofore made I do declare this to be my last

this my Will this fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty E Twiss
