Will of Charles Vye

of Ramsgate, Kent

This is the last Will of me Charles Vye of Ramsgate in the Isle of Thanet in the County of Kent Victualler

First I give & devise all & singular my Messuages lands tenements heredits & real Estate whatsoever & wheresoever with the Appurts unto my dear Wife Sarah Vye for & during the term of her natural life she keeping the same in good & tenantable repair
and from & after her decease I give & devise all my said Messuages lands tenements heredits & real Estate with the Appurts unto my three Children Mary Ann Vye Jesse Vye & Sophia Vye their heirs & assigns for ever equally to be divided between them as tenants in common & not as joint tenants
but it is my express will & desire that my Messuage or tenement with the Appurts No 7 situate in Harborn Place Ramsgate now in the occupation of John Jarman shall be purchased by one of my children

I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Ann Vye the Sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her within six months of my decease clear of Duty
I give & bequeath to my said son Jesse Vye & my said daughter Sophia Vye the Sum of one hundred pounds of like money a piece to be paid to them as they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years clear of Duty

And as for and concerning all the residue of my monies securities stock household Furniture Effects Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever not hereinbefore disposed of after & subject to the payment of my just Debts Funeral Charges the several legacies by me hereinbefore given & bequeathed the charges of proving this my Will & all charges incident to the execution thereof I give & bequeath the use benefit & enjoyment but not the absolute property & disposal of the same unto my said Wife Sarah Vye during her life and from & after her decease I give & bequeath the same equally between my said three children Mary Ann Vye Jesse Vye & Sophia Vye share & share alike

and I do appoint my said Wife my said daughter Mary Ann Vye & Thomas Rammell of Ramsgate aforesaid Grocer Executors of this my Will & testament
And do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this fifth day of February in the Fifty fourth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King George the third One thousand eight hundred & fourteen Charles Vye
