In the name of God Amen the first day of September in the yeere of or Lord God one thowsand five hundred nynty and five
I Thomas Wallard of the parish of Boughton under the Bleane in the County of Kent Yeoman sicke in body but whole in mynde and of good and perfecte remembrannce, God be therefore thanked, do make and ordaine my Last will and testam[en]t in manner and forme following
First I Comend my soule unto God my creator and redeemer and my Body to be buryed un the Churchyard of the parish of Boughton aforesaid

Item I give to the poore of the parish of Boughton aforesaid six shillings and eight pence to be paid wthin one quarter of a yeere after my decease
Item I give unto Anne my wyfe and to Richard my sonne all that my stocke in trade and occupacon of my said sonne Richard
vizt to Anne my wyfe twenty pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid owt of my said stocke in manner and forme following (that is wthin one yeere next after my death five pounds and so from yeere to yeere five pounds yeerly till the some of twenty pounds be fully satisfied and paid
and the residue of the said stock I give to Richard my sonne

Item I give unto Anne my wyfe the use and occupacon of all my stocke of Corne and Cattell w[i]thall other my goods and houshold stuffe now occupied used and being in the house whereof I now dwell during her naturall lyfe
and after the death of my said wyfe I give my stocke of Corne Cattell goods and houshold stuffe to Henery Wallard my sonne
And yf yt fotune my said wyfe to marry then I will that he that shall marry her shall enter into sufficient bonde unto Henery my sonne to leave my Last said stocke to my said sonne Henery in as good state as he findeth the same or pr[e]sently to deliver the said stocke and goods into the hands of Henery my sonne

Item I give to Jean Shrubsoll my servant forty shillings of lawfull mony of England to be paid wthin one yeere next after my death
Item I give to all my god Children fower pence a peece wthin one yeere next after my death

All other my goods and Cattell unbequeathed my debts and legacies paid I give unto Anne my wyfe whom I make and ordaine my sole executrix of this my last will & testam[en]t

This is the Last will and testamt of me the aforesaid Thomas Wallard As touching the disposition of all my Lands & Tenem[en]ts scituate lying and being in the parishes of Boughton aforesaid and Chilham, Charing, Sellinge or els wheresoever

First I give to Anne my wyfe the profitt of all my lands and Tents aforesaid during her naturall lyfe she keeping and mayntayning the house wthall manner of necessary reparacons and leaving them sufficiently maintayned and repaired

Item I give unto my sonne Richard Wallard the house where I now dwell in Boughton aforesaid wth the lands thereunto belonging after the death of Anne my wyfe to him and his heires for ever
Item I give unto my sonne Richard Wallard my house or Tenemt in Charing aforesaid wthall the lands thereto belonging after the death of my said wyfe to him and his heires for ever
Item I give to Richard my sonne sixteen acres of land more or lesse lying in the parish of Chilham aforesaid neerly adjoyning to Conny Hill in Chilham aforesaid after the death of my wyfe to him and his heires for ever

Item I give to Henery my sonne all that my house or Tenemt in Sellynge [Selling] aforesaid called by the name of Owen with the lands and all other the appurtenncs [appurtenances] thereto belonging after the death of my said wyfe to him and his heires for ever
Item I give to my said sonne Henery my house or Tenemt called Bolls in Selling aforesaid wth the lands and other appurtenncs thereto belonging after the death of my said wyfe to him and his heires for ever
Item I give my said sonne Henery that my house or Tenemt in Chilham aforesaid wth the lands and appurtenncs thereto belonging after the death of my said wyfe to him and his heires for ever

Item I give to my said Henery my sonne two annuityes one of three pounds by the yeere owt of the lands of Christopher Southouse late of Selling aforesaid deceased the other owt of the lands of George Wix of Cosmos bleane of forty shillings by the yeere to him and his heires for ever

Item I will to Anne my wyfe the profitt of ten pounds in the hands of Richard Younge of Godmersham in the county aforesaid
Item I give unto Julian my eldest daughter 20 shillings a yeere during her naturall lyfe to be paid quarterly by even and equall portions owt of all my foresaid lands

Provided allso that yf my sonne Richard molest my said sonne Henery or call into question any of the said lands before bequeathed to my sonne Henery and recover any parte thereof from my said sonne Henery Then I will that my said sonne Henery shall have halfe the lands that I have before bequeathed to Richard my sonne in recompemce thereof

Ratiffied and confirmed by the testator in the pnce [presence] of us
William Plaice; Raynold Maxted; Henry Rainold

Notes:
Thomas Wallard was buried 24th November 1606 at St. Mary, Selling, Kent (about 3 miles to the south of Boughton).
Thomas Wallard, Husbandman of Hernhill married Ann Dryland, Widow, on 23rd July 1607 at St. Michael, Hernhill.
