In the name of god amen the 5th day of March in the 30th year of the reign of King Henry the 8th
I James Walsingham of Chislehurst in the county of Kent esquire hole of mind and in good memory make this my last testament in manner and form following
First I bequeath my soul unto almighty god my maker and redeemer to our blessed lady St Mary and in all the company of heaven My body to be buried in the church of Chislehurst aforesaid by the discretion of my executrix underwritten

And I bequeath to the high alter of the said parish Chislehurst aforesaid my tithes which withholden or negligently forgotten 30s 4d
Also I give and bequeath to the high alter of the parish Church of Pauls Cray in Like form 2s
Also I give and bequeath towards the reparations of the said parish church of Chislehurst 20s
Also I give and bequeath to every servant that I have at the time of my decease over and besides their wages 6s 8d to pray for my soul and my wife
Item I will that my executrix keep an obit Yearly during her natural life where and at her discretion with dirige and mass by note and to dispend and distribute in and for the same 13s 4d

The residue of all my goods chattels and debts whatsoever they be my funeral and debts paid and my legacies fulfilled I fully and freely give unto Elynor my well beloved wife she to dispose at her pleasure and her own use

And of this my present testament I make and ordain the said my wife sole executrix
And Sr Edmund Walsingham Knight overseer of this my present testament and last will

provided as touching and concerning the order and disposition of all my lands and tenements as well freehold as copyhold and customary hold set lying and being in the parish town and fields of Stratford Langford in the county of Essex

I will that my said wife and executrix shall immediately after my death receive and take for the term of one whole year next after my decease the hole rents and profits of all the said lands and tenements as well freehold copy and customary hold to the intent and purpose of and for the performance of this my said last testament according to a bill of agreement made by the said Sir Edmund Walsingham knight son and heir apparent to me the said James Walsingham esquire Whereof the date is of this my said testament and after the said term of one year next after my decease ended and determined I will the said Sir Edmund Walsingham shall have all the said lands and tenements as well freehold copy and customary hold to him and his heirs forever and according to the said agreement

In witness whereof I the said James Walsingham esquire have subscribed this my testament and last will with my own hand the day and year aforesaid
