I give and devise all and Singular my Messuages Tenements Lands Hereditaments and Premises Situate lying and being in the Parish of Egerton and now in the Occupation of Joseph Coppen to Edward Prentis of Maidstone Timber Merchant and to his Heirs and Assigns To the only Proper use and behoof of the said Edward Prentis his Heirs and Assigns forever Chargeable nevertheless with the Payment of the several Legacies hereinafter Specified if there shall not be Sufficient of my Personal Estate for the Payment thereof
I give and bequeath to my Sister Damaris Buss Widow the Sum of Ten Pounds
I give and bequeath to my Sister Mary Scoones of Tunbridge the sum of five Pounds
the said Legacies to be paid to them within one Month after my decease
I give and bequeath to my Cousins Susanna Glede and Anna Davis both of Maidstone aforesaid
Twenty Pounds a piece to be paid them within six Months after my decease
I give and bequeath to my Sister Walter Widow of my Brother John Walter the Sum of
Ten Pounds to be paid her within six Months next after my decease
I give and bequeath to my Cousin Thomas Walter of Maidstone the Sum of Twenty Pounds to be paid to him at the age of one and Twenty Years and if he shall happen to depart this Life before he shall attain to the said age of one and Twenty Years then I give and bequeath the said Sum of Twenty Pounds to each of the sisters of the said Thomas Walter as shall be living at the time when he would have attained the said age equally to be divided between them
I give and bequeath to my Cousin John Walter Son of my Brother John Walter the Sum of Fifty Pounds and to Dinah Walter and Mary Walter Daughters of my said Brother John Twenty Pounds a Piece the said Legacies to be paid to the said Children of my said Brother as they shall respectively attain to the age of one and Twenty Years and if any or either of them shall depart this Life before they shall attain to the said age then I give the same to the Survivors or Survivor of them
I give and bequeath to my Cousin John Walter of Maidstone all my Wearing Apparel Linnen and Woollen and the like and also the Sum of one hundred Pounds to be paid him at the age of one and Twenty Years and if he shall happen to depart this Life before he shall have arrived to the said age then I give the said Sum to such of his Brothers and Sisters as shall be living at the time when he would have attained the said age
all the rest and residue of my Estate both real and Personal whatsoever and wheresoever after Payment of my Debt Legacies Funeral Expences and the Probate of this my Will except my Chest of Linnen which I give and bequeath to my Cousin Glede and Cousin Davis both of Maidstone and to my Sister Walter of London equally to be divided between them then all the rest of my Estate as aforesaid I give bequeath and devise to the said Edward Prentis and to his Executors Administrators and Assigns
and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Edward
Prentis sole Executor of this my Will and do revoke annul and make void all
former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made
ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness where of I have to this my last Will and Testament consisting of two
Sheets of Paper to the first Sheet thereof set my hand and to the second Sheet
my hand and seal the Twenty first day of October in the Twenty Sixth Year of
the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great
Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith and so forth and in the
