In the name of God Amen The eleaventh day of November in the yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of all England Scotland France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith, etc. & the sixteenth Anno dini 1640
I Bennett Warde of Yalding in the County of Kent widdowe being in good health and perfect remembrance (thankes be given unto Almighty God) doe make and ordaine this my last will and testam't in manner and forme following (revokeing all former wills heretofore by me made)
First I comend my soule into the merrcifull hands of Allmightie God and to Jesus Christ my onely Saviour hopeing assuredly to be saved by his death and passion And my Corpse to be buried in comely and decent manner according to the discrecon of my Executors hereafter named

Item I doe give to the poore people of the parrish of Fawkham in the said County of Kent three pounds of lawfull money of England to be payed to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the said parrish and to be by them and three of fower of the abler sort of the Inhabitants of the same to be bestowed and imployed to the best use and benefitt of the sayd poore people, which sayd three pounds is to be payed by my executors within one yeare next after my decease
Item I doe give the some of fortie shillings to be bestowed and distributed by my said executors amongst poore people upon the day of my funerall
Item I doe give unto the minister that shall preach my funerall sermon Fortie shillings for his paynes

Item I give to Thomas Stansall Clarke Minister of Longfeild and to Richard Cooke, Curate of Fawkham fortie shillings a peece
Item I give to fower of my kindred such as my executors shall nominate and appoint to carry my Corps to the Church fortie shillings a yeere

Item I give to William Fynne and to Mary Paye my daughter Reeds servants Twenty shillings a peece if they be dwelling with my said daughter att the tyme of my decease
Item I doe give unto Vinca? Mawde my sonne George Wards servant Twenty shillings yf shee shalbe dwelling with my said sonne att the tyme of my decease
Item I doe give unto all such Servants as shalbe dwelling with my daughter Walter att the tyme of my decease twenty shillings a peace
And unto Thomas Bromly ten shillings
All which said severall Legacies soe bequeathed to their said severall servants shalbe paid unto them by my executors within three moneths next after my decease

Item I doe give unto my Grandchild William Reed sonne of Methew Reede late of Fowlston [Folkestone?] gent deceased Fyftie pounds to be payed unto him wthin six moneths next after my decease
Item I doe give to fyve of my Grandchildren vizt. Bennet Reed, Dorcas Walter, John Walter, Bennet Walter and Bennet Warde of London fyve pounds a yeere
And to Bennet Mantle fyve pounds

Item I doe give to Elizabeth Gibbs daughter of my sister Gibbs forty shillings
To Anne Tournay my Cosen Thomas Tournay’s daughter forty shillings
To Carrington of Ashford widdowe forty shilling
and to my Cosen Luke Burden fortie shillings
Item to Peter Benningfeild my Sister Benningfeild’s sonne fortie shillings
To William Jenkins my Godsonn fortie shillings
And to Gabriell Reeve fortie shillings
Item I give to my Cosen Luke Burden’s wife twenty two shillings to make her a Ringe

To my brother John Tournayes two daughters Alce Bargrave and Anne Herring twenty two shillings a peece to make either of them a Ringe
And to Elizabeth Tournaye my brother Thomas Tourney’s daughter Twenty two shillings to make her a Ringe
Item I doe give to all my Grandchildren gould Rings wth the picture of deaths head and my name engraven upon every Ringe for a remembrance of my love towards them And I doe give to every one of them a gold Ringe with the same picture to be delivered to them by my said executors accordingly
Item I give unto my daughter Walter all my wearing apparrell

And I doe give and devise all the residue of my goods whatsoever unbequeathed and not disposed of my debts legacies funerall expences and other charges deducted To my Sonne George Warde and my daughters Alice Reede and Bennett Walter And to Bennett Warde one of the daughters of my sonne Ambrose Warde deceased to be equally devided betweene them or their Children (yf any of them be dead)

And of this my last will and Testament I doe make and ordaine my welbeloved sonne George Warde and Alice Reade and Bennet Walter my two daughters my full executors
And I doe nominate make and ordaine for my Overseers of this my last will and testament my welbeloved brother Robert Tournay gent and my sonne in lawe John Walter gent And I doe give to every of them for their paines tenn pounds a peece

This is the last will and Testament of me the sayd Bennett Warde made published and declared the daye and yeare first above written
In witnes whereof I have to this my will and Testament putt to my hand and seale and subscribed my name to theis two sheetes of paper
