In the Name of God Amen I John Webb of the Citty of Canterbury being sicke and weake in body but of sound and p[er]fect mind and memory and understanding (God be praised therefore) do make and ordaine this my last will & testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
First I Comitt my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator hopeing by the All sustient meritts of my blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be made p[ar]taker of eternall Joy and felicity in the kingdome of Heaven and my body I comitt to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my deer & Loveing wife Susannah whome I make & ordaine the Sole Executrix & of this my Will
And as to that small porcon of worldly estate with which it hath pleased Allmighty God of his goodness to bless me I dispose thereof as follloweth

Inprimis I give and bequeath unto my Loveing Son John Webb the sume of thirty pounds of Lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my said Executrix at his age of one & twenty yeares without any abatement or deduccons out of the same for his educacon or putting forth apprentice or apparell or other matter or thing whatsoever
Item I give and bequeath to my Loveing daughter Susannah Webb the sume of thirty pounds of like money to be paid unto the said Susannah my daughter at her age of one & twenty yeares or on the day of her marriage which shall first happen

And if either of my said children shall happen to departe this life before he or she shall have received his or her said Legacie then I give & bequeath the Legacye or porcon of him or her soe dyeing unto the Survivor of them to be paid at such tyme as the same should have been paid if such child had lived to receive the same without any abatement as aforesaid And my will is that my daughters legacy or porcon shall not be diminished or short[e]ned for or in respect of her educacon but be paid without any abatement as afores[ai]d.

All the residue & overplus of my estate not hereinbefore given & bequeathed my debts Legacyes & funerall exences & the probate of this my Will & the educacon of my said children and the putting of my Son out to some trade as he shall like & other incident chardges being first deducted I give & bequeath unto my said Loveing wife

& I do desire & intreate my loveing freind Synier Bowerton? Gent. [Squire Beverton?] & one of the Aldermen of the said Citty to be overseer of this my Will & to be aiding & assisting my said wife in the due execcon [execution] of this my Will & to see the same carefully p[er]formed

In Witness whereof I have heerunto set my hand & seale this one & twentieth day of January Anno dini one thousand six hundred ninety & three

Susan Webb was buried 1st July 1701 at St. Peter
John Webb ba 26 of Canterbury, carpenter & Susan Jasper of St Peter, Canterbury, widow at St Peter or St Mary Bredin, Canterbury. John Alfrey of Canterbury, innholder, bonds. Licence 6 Nov 1680
son John was baptised 24 Aug 1681 & daughter Susanna was baptised 10 Dec 1682 at All Saints, Canterbury
