Imprimus I doe make and ordayne my two daughters SARA BARLEY of Dover Widdowe and PACIENCE BARLEY wife of RICHARD BARLEY of Dover aforesaid the sole Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament.
Item I doe hereby give authority to my said Executrixes to sell my houses in the High Streete in Canterbury one of them beinge that which I live in and the other beinge that wherein THOMAS SAWLTER doth nowe live.
And out of the moneyes for which the said two houses shalbe solde I doe hereby order Mrs JANE HARDRES shalbe paid such money as I doe owe her and Goodwife OARR such money as I doe owe her and all other debts which I doe owe.
And the residue of the money for which the said two houses shalbe solde I doe give and bequeath unto my said Executrix PACIENCE BARLEY and to my grandchild BENNET to be equally devided betweene them.
Item I doe give and bequeath unto my grandchild REBECCA PACKENHAM one
great chest and with the linnen and goods in it which chest doth nowe stand in the Upper Chamber.
And I doe give and bequeath to the said REBECCA one great box
and the frame upon which it stands with the linnen in it which box is in the said chamber.
The residue of all my goods and chattells in the said house in which I doe nowe dwell I doe give unto my three grandchilds REBECCCA BENNETT and ISRAELL PACKENHAM to be equally devided betweene them so soone as they shalbe capable to receave them.
Item I give devise and bequeath unto the said REBECCA PACKENHAM and to her heires and assignes forever my house with the appurtenances situate in Jury Lane in the said Cittie of Canterbury. And also an annuity or yerely rent of foure pounds the yeare issuinge out of lande in Harbaldowne late Mr. JOHN SUTTON I doe likewise give devise and bequeath unto the said REBECCA her heires and assignes forever.
I doe give devise and bequeath unto my grandchild ALICE BARLEY a lease with all and singular
the profits thereof and the terme of yeres therein yet to come and unexpired which lease I hold of
the Deane and Chapter of Christchurch Canterbury.
And if it shall happen the said ALICE BARLEY to departe this life before shee shall attaine the age
of twenty and one yeers then I give devise and bequeath the same lease unto my grandchild SARA BARLEY
for and duringe the remainder of yeeres therein yet to come as aforesaid.
And if she should happen to departe this life before her age of one and twenty yeres then I give devise
and bequeath the same lease unto my said daughter SARA BARLEY her heires Executors and Assignes duringe
all the remainder of the yeeres yet to come and unexpired in the said lease.
And I doe hereby order the said SARA my daughter to receave to her owne use the parte of the
said lease duringe the minority of her children.
Item Whereas I have formerly in this my Will given unto REBECCA PACKENHAM some goods in kinde and the residue of all my goods unto the said REBECCA BENNET and ISRAELL PACKENHAM to be devided betweene them my will is and I doe hereby give and bequeath unto the said REBECCA one other box in the said chamber which was her mothers and also the bed and bedstead ready furnished standinge in the Parlour one trunke of linnen upon which her fathers name is and one case of boxes standing in the Middle Chamber.
And also I give and bequeath unto the said BENNET one cupboard in the Upper Chamber
and one bed and bedsted in the Middle Chamber.
Item I give to GRACE SHARPSTED one dozen of diaper napkins.
The Residue of the goods in my said house not formerly in particular bequeathed I
give to my said Executrixes equally to be devided betweene them.
I doe hereby revoke all other Wills by me formerly made and doe nowe ratifie and
confirme this to be my Will.
In witnes whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seale the 5 and 20th of September 1644 ALICE
