In the name of God Amen I Richard Willard of Boughton Munchelsea in the County of Kent beeinge sick on bodie but in perfect and good memorie, blessed bee my great God therefore, doe make and ordayne this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge
First I bequeath my soule into the handes of Jesus Christ my most mercifull Saviour and Redeemer and my bodie to be buried in the Churchyeard of Boughton Munchelsea

Item I doe give unto my sonne William Twentie pounds to be paid unto him when he shall accomplishe the age of one and twentie yeares
In the meane while wch shalbe chardged wth keepinge him as I doe earnestlie praie my brother Thomas Willard to undergoe that for me, shall have the profitt wch ariseth of that money till hee is fitt to bee putt forth apprentice and three yeares after about seaven yeares in the whole and hee shall afterward receive the use himselfe
Item I give unto him the bedd and bedsteddle whereon I nowe lie all furnished wth the best Coverlett and twoe payre of sheetes of the best wth one newe Chest and three peeces of the best pewter and one brasse pott
Item I give unto him twoe silver spoones wch were his sisters one suite of my best apparrell, doubblett, Jerkine, hose, Cloke, hatt the aforesaid bedd, bedsteddle, Coverlett, sheetes and other furniture Chest pewter and silver spoones to be presentlie after my decease delivered into the hands of my good Freind Thomas Day of Chart (Sutton) together wth one brasse pott to be keapt by him to his use till he shall come to the age of one and twentie yeares and the said suite of apparell to be sould for the best benefitt of him presentlie

And if it soe please God that he dep[ar]te this life before he accomplish the age of one and twentie yeares then my will is that all those legacies I have given him be equallie devided betweene his survivinge sisters
The rest of my goodes Cattayle and Chattayles [Cattle and Chattel] not alreadie bequeathed I give unto my wife Amie and my Fower daughters Mary, Elizabeth, Joane and Amie equallie to be devided betweene them

And I make the said Amie my wife executor of this my last will and testament shee paieing my debts legacies and funerall Charges and delveringe unto Thomas Daye of Chart aforesaid wthin the space of six monethes after my decease the said 20 pounds wch I have bequeathed to my sonn William
In whose hands I desire it shall rest till it be payable according to my will shee taking care that there be reasonable profitt made of that money and that profitt paid halfe yearlie to hym that shall undertake the education or keeping of my said sonne

And I doe make William Tubbend and Robert Bills Overseers of this my Last will and testament
And in witnes heereof have putte my hand and seale the three and twentith of May in the yeare of our Lord Christ One Thousand six hundred and twentie

Memorandum That the said Richard Willard also willed yt out of the yimplmte of this twentie pound there should bee 20s bestowed upon his sonne William toward the teaching him to reade and write before hee bee putt foorth apprentice
