In the name of god Amen, the yere of our Lord god 1538 the fyrst day of February,
I Wyllyam Wodd of the parisshe of Iwade in the countie of Kent, sycke in body and hoole of mynde do make my last wyll & testament in this manner and forme
Fyrst I bequeath my soule to Almyghty god, to our lady saynte Mary and to all the holy company in hevyn and my body to be buryed in the churche yerde of Iwade

Also I gyve my wyff the profitt of all my lande unto suche tyme as my chyldren come to the age of 20 yeres and then the one chylde to be afforeforthe as the other therein
Also I gyve eche of my chyldren 20 shepe and eche of theym a cowe

Also I gyve Robert my godson 2 shepe
and I gyve Katheryn my servante 3 shepe
I gyve John Carter my frysed cote

And yf my wyff be wyth chylde, that chylde to have as feireforthe as the others havyng 20 shepe and a cowe and also hys parte in the lande

The Rest of all my goodes unbequethed I gyve unto my wyff whom I make my executor alone paying all my dettes and bequethes to ordre and destrybute for my soule and all crysten soules

Wytnes to this my last wyll Wyllyam Mayon, John Platt, Thomas Perryman, Willliam Bryce, Wyllyam Buckemere with others
