Imprimis I give and bequeath to the church of Cowlinge to be paid to the
thandes of the churchwardens of the said p(ar)ish for the time beinge towardes the
Repacions of the said p(ar)ish church the som(m)e of fowre poundes lawfull monie of
England over and above twenty shillinges remayning in my handes ??? to the said
p(ar)ish church , such som(me) of 5� wilbe paid by my Executors( before ) at
Whitsontyde next after my death.
Item I bequeath to every poore howsholder inh(ab)itinge in the p(ar)ish of Cowlinge
conteyninge in all nyne howsholdes half a eane of wheat a peece to be paid to them at
the feast aforesaid.
It(e)m I give and bequeath to my welbeloved wife mary Woodyer one hundred poundes of
good and Lawful monie of england to be paid to her w(i)th(i)n one yere next after my death.
It(e)m I give and bequeth to the said Mary my wife tenn kone to tase? houswife one
of the twentie atonego cire ince parke and property Exae I and so much off my
howsholde stuffe Except such ymplements of howsholde stuffe now standing in the hall
of my dwellinge house w(hi)ch I will shall whole remaine to Robert my sonne as she
shall thinke fitt to take for her own use.
It(e)m I give to her the tithe of the corne w(hi)ch
shall from time to time give sowen upon westbrookes now in thoccupac(i)on of
George Page Gent duringe the term of her life naturall the keping her self my
widowe Buyinge the rente {if the lease be not before expired}and after her decease I
bequeath the said lease to Robert my sonne.

Mary my wife thoccupation of Long feild conteyninge by estimacon twenty Acres, and
three other feildes called Netty ioyninge to Coneyfeild conteyninge by estimacon 17
Acres more or lesse duringe the terme of yeres therof amongest other landes, to me
lately Demised by the countesse of kildare if she so longe live and keepe herself my
widow she payinge therfore to Robert Woodyer my sonne or his assignes the
som(m)e of nyne poundes five shillinges by the yere At the feastes of St Michael
tharchangell and the An(n)unciasion of the blessed lady the virgine Mary by even
porc(i)ons.
It(e)m I give to the said mary my wife my Bay mare and my Gray mare.
It(e)m I give and bequeath to Thomas Woodyer fiftie poundes lawfull monie of
England to be paid within one yeare after my death to the said Thomas my eldest
sonne my flocke of ewes at Sharde in the p(ar)ishe of halstow in the county of Kent.
Item I give and bequeath to the said Thom(a)s my sonne one marshe called Gillingham
hope situate in the p(ar)ishof Frinsbury in the county of Kent duringe the terme of
yeres yet to come and unexpired in the said marshe to me demised as afore by the
countesse of Kildare, he the said Thomas payinge to my sonne Robert or his Assigns
the yerely Rent w(hi)ch is now paid for the said marshe called Gillingham hope at the
feasts of St Michael and thann(uncia)cion as abovesaid
It(e)m I give and bequeath to William Woodyer my sonne the s(om)me of (?erased) > two < hundred poundes lawfull monie of England to be paid to the said William my sonne w(i)thin one yere after my death.
It(e)m I give and bequeath to George Woodyer my sonne all my stocke of sheepe in howsewicke and westwicke situate in the p(ar)ish of halstow aforesaid he the said George payinge to my sonne ( Richard ) > Robert < Woodyer or his assigns one hundred poundes of good and lawfull monie of England w(i)thin one yere after my death.
It(e)m I give to Robert my sonne (two) > one < hundred poundes lawfull
monie of England to be paid to the said Robert my sonne w(i)thin one yere after his
maryage if he marrie before my death or within one yere after my death.
Item I give and bequeath to the said Rob(er)te Woodyer my sonne the lease of the land
to me lett by the countesse of kildare {except before ( excepted ) > bequeathed < and
all the terme of yeres yet to come and unexpired in the said lease.
It(e)m I give to the said Robert my sonne the lease of the tithes of coof brooke after
It(e)m I give to Robert my sonne my best peece of silver and doble gilte two silver bowles
and halfascore of silver spoons (my wifes decease or marriage)
It(e)m I give bequeath to the foresaid Richard Woodyer my sonne the som(m)e of one hundred powndes lawfull monie (thirteen words scribbled out, illegible ) w(hi)ch somme of will shalbe (also) payde to him w(i)thin one yere after my deceasse.
It(e)m I will and bequeath to William and Abigall Woodyer the two children of my sonn(n)e
Thomas Woodyer the s(um)me of threescore fine poundes Lawfull monie of England to be paid to
them at their several ages of one and twenty yeres or dayes of marriadge w(hi)ch
shall first happen and if either of them dye before the time and or times before limmitted
then my will is (t)h(a)t the ptes porcon of his or her so deceassinge shall Remaine
to the survivor.
It(e)m my will is that the said som(m)e of monie shall Remayne in
thandes of thom(a)s Woodyer their father untill they accomplishe their severall ages of
one and twenty yeres or dayes of marriadge as aforesaid so the said Thom(a)s
puttinge in sufficient security to the ordinary of the dioces of Rochester for the time
beinge for the Repayment of the am(oun)t unto his children or the survivor of them at
their severall ages or dayes of marriadge as abovesaid.
It(e)m I give to Agnis Pettitt and Mildred Scott my servants to each of them a two
yeringe bullock and half a seame of wheat.
It(e)m I give to Jone? Gilsone? two yeringe bullocks.
It(e)m I give to Robert Tew a seame of wheat
It(e)m I will that theise severall legacies before bequeathed
shalbe paid by my Executors hereafter to be named outof the cattell and corne
specified in a Schedule to this my pr(e)sent testament bequeathed and subscribed

The rest and Residew of all and singular my goodes corne and catle whatsoever not before in this my pr(e)sent testament and last will given and bequeathed , my debtes and legacies paid and my funerall expences dischardged , I give and bequeath to be equally devided betwixt my three sonnes Thomas, George, and Robert Woodyer whom I constitute and make the Joynte executors of this my pr(e)sent last will and testament w(h)om as a father I Require as they will answer the contrary before god to joyne together in brotherlike love as well in the sale of my cattle and corne specified in the schedule before mentioned towardes the payment of my legacies before bequeathed as also in the devision of the overplus {if anie shall Arise}
It(e)m I ordeine and appoint Mr Stephen Phillipps of the citty of Rochester and
George Page gent Sup(er)visors of this my pr(e)sent testament and last will to whom I
give 20s a peece.

This is the last will and testament of me the said William Woodyer made and declared the Daye and yere aforesaid to makinge the disposic(i)on of all and singular my landes tenements and hereditaments scituat lyinge and beinge in the sev(er)all p(ar)ishes of Cowlinge Frinsbury and Hoo in the county of Kent or elsewhere.
