In the name of God Amen, I James Wood of the parish of St Dunstane neer and without the walles of the Citty of Canterbury in the Countie of Kent, yeoman, being at present very sicke, weake and finding by the constitution of my body that I have noe longe time of continuance uppon this Earth, doe whilest I enjoy life and understandinge make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge

That is to say First I make and appointe Katherine my welbeloved wife my sole executrix

Item I give and bequeath unto Arthur Wood my brother five shillings of Lawfull English money to be paid unto him within one yeare next after my decease if the same shalbe lawfullie demanded

Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Elizabeth Batcheler wife of Daniel Batcheler the like summe five shillings to bee paid unto her accordingly

The rest residue and remainder of all my Estate (my best suite of apparrell which I hereby give unto Thomas Lambden my servant excepted) I give unto my aforesaid loving wife my executrix

And in witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this 22th day of September Anno domini 1664
