In the name of God Amen I James Wood of the Parish of Selling in the County of Kent Labourer being sick and weak in Body but of sound and perfect disposing mind and memory praised be Almighty God therefore do make publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say,
First I commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hoping thro’ the alone Merits death and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to obtain full & free Pardon and Forgiveness of all my Sins and to inherit Everlasting Life after Death And my Body I comitt to the Earth to be decently interred in Christian burial at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named
Amd as touching the Temporal Estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth

Item my will and mind is that all my Just debts be with all Convenient Speed after my decease fully paid and satisfied
Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Mary Wood all and singular my Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (my debts Funeral Charges and Probate of this my Will being first paid and defrayed)

Item I do hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my said loving Wife Mary Wood full and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills and Testaments

In Witness whereof I have to this my Last Will and Testament contained in One Sheet of paper set my Hand and Seal the Eighth day of May in the Tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. Anno Dini 1724.
