In the Name of God Amen this Thirteenth day of April Anno Domini 1726 And in the Twelfth year of the Reigne of King George over Great Britain
I William Woodwar of the parish of Staple in the County of Kent Yeoman being in Reasonable good health and of sound and Perfect Mind and Memory (Praised be God therefore) Considering the uncertainty of this Transitory life and being desirous to Settle and Dispose of that Estate Wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me Do Make and Declare this my last Will and Testament in Writing in manner and forme following (that is to say)
First and Principally I yeild my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator with full Assurance and Stedfast hope in my Redeemer Christ Jesus to live with him Eternally after this my Mortal life Shal be Ended And my Body I bequeath to the Earth whereof it was first framed to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named.

Also I do Give and Bequeath unto my loving Daughter Mary the Summe of Twenty Shillings of lawfull money of Great Britain (having already Settled a portion on her) to be paid unto her by my Executors hereafter named within Three Months next after my decease

Also I do Give and Devise unto my loving Wife Joanna and her Assignes for and during the Terme of her natural Life All That my Messauge wherein I now Dwell in Staple aforesaid with the Barne Stable Yard and Land thereunto belonging in my Own Occupation Containing about Eleven Acres more or less
And also All That my other Messuage or Tenement thereunto Adjoyning in Staple Aforesaid with the Orchard thereunto belonging and now or late in the Tenure or Occupacion of William Brenchly or of his Assignes She and they keeping the Buildings in good Repair And the Interest money of a Mortgage thereon duely paid

And from and after the decease of my said Wife Then I do Give and Devise the same premisses with the Appurtenances unto my loving Son Leonard Woodwar his Heires and Assignes forever,
He my Said Son Leonard and his Heires and Assignes paying out of the same unto my Son Richard Woodwar and his Heires One Annuity or Yearly Rent of Five pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain (which Annuity or Yearly Rent I do hereby Give and Devise unto him my Said Son Richard Woodwar his Heirs and Assignes forever) by Quarterly payments (that is to Say) On the Feast days of the Birth of our Lord Christ, The Annunciacion of the blessed Virgin Mary the Nativity of St John the Baptist and St Michael the Arch Angel by even and Equal Portions, the first payment to begin and be made on Such of the said Feasts Which Shal first and next happen after the decease of my said Wife

And in Case of Non payment of the same within fourteen days next after any of the said Feasts on Which the same shal be due as aforesaid Then I do hereby give unto my said Son Richard Woodwar his Heires and Assignes or any of them full power to Enter on the said premisses and distreyne for the same

And also he my Said Son Leonard Woodwar and his Heires for ther paying out of the same premisses unto my four Grandsons William Woodwar Richard Woodwar Leonard Woodwar and John Woodwar Sons of my said Son Richard Woodwar Severally the summe of Ten pounds apeice of lawfull money of Great Britain
And unto my Two Grandaughters Elizabeth Woodwar and Susanna Woodwar Daughters of my Said Son Richard Woodwar Severally the Summe of Ten pounds a peice of like money,
Which Legacies I do hereby give unto them my said Grand children And Make the presisses aforesaid liable to and Changeable with the payment of the Same Within four yeares next after the decease of my said Wife and not before unless he my Said Son Leonard Woodwar shal Choose to do it sooner

Also I do Give and Devise unto my said Son Leonard Woodwar his Heires and Assignes forever All That my Messuage or Tenement With the Barne Orchard Yard and Land thereunto belonging Containing by Estimacion Four Acres more or less in Staple afroesaid at or near a place ther Called Cool Blow And now or late in the Tenure or Occupacion of Thomas Woodwar or of his Assignes
Also I do Give and Devise unto my Said Son Leonard Woodwar his Heires and Assignes forever All That my Peice or Parcell of Land Conatining by Estimation Two Acres more or less lying in Staple Aforesaid in a Feild there called Barnsole Feild And now in his own Occupacion

Also I do Give and Devise unto my Son John Woodwar his Heires and Assignes forever All That my Messuage or Tenement With the Outhouses Yard Orchard and Land thereunto belonging Scituate lying and being in the Parish of Staple Aforesaid at or near a place there Called Barnsole And now or late in the Tenure or Occupacion of Daniel Stanwood or of his Assignes
And Also All That my Peice or Parcell of Arrable Land Containing by Estimacion Two Acres more or less lying and being in the Parish of Woodnesborow also Winsborow in the said County of Kent at or in the said Feild Called Barnsole Feild And now or late in the Tenure or Occupacion of my said Son Leonard Woodwar or of his Assignes

Also I do Give and Bequeath unto my said Son Leonard Woodwar All the Stock and Crop of the Farme Wherein he now dwells in Staple Aforesaid he paying and Discharging All Such Rent as shal be due for the same at the time of my decease

All the Rest and Residue of all and Singuler my Goods Cattle Chattells and Personall Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (my Debts Legacies Funeral Charges and Probate of this my will being first paid and deducted) I do give and Bequeath unto my said Wife Joanna

And I do hereby Make Nominate Ordain and Appoint my said Wife Joanna and my said Son Leonard Woodwar Joynt Executors of this my last Will and Testament
And Lastly I do hereby Revoke and Make Void All former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made

In Witnesse whereof I the said William Woodwar the Testator to this my last Will and Testament in Three Sheets of Paper Contained to every Sheet there of my hand and Seale have Sett and put the day and year first aforedsaid
