In the Name of God Amen I Matthew Woodruff of the Town and Borough of Deal in the County of Kent Cordwainer being mindful of my Mortality Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and Form following (that is to say)

First I do hereby give and devise my one full undivided Moiety of half part (the whole in two equal parts to be divided) and all other my parts purparts and shares of and in all that my Messuage or Tenement and of and in the Barn Outhouses Buildings Lands and Hereditaments thereunto belonging with their and every of their Appurtenances situate lying and being at or near a certain place called Summerfield in the Parish of Woodnesborough otherwise Winterborough in the said County of Kent and now or late in the Tenure or Occupation of Isaac Collins or of his Assigns And also all other my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my loving Wife Mary Woodruff for and during the term of her natural life to and for her own use and benefit

and from and after the decease of my said Wife Mary Woodruff unto my Grandson Matthew William Sankey Son of Thomas Sankey of the City of Canterbury Tallow Chandler for ever

also I do hereby give and bequeath unto my Executor and Executor hereinafter named the Sum of seven hundred pounds Stock now standing in my Name in the joint Stock of Annuities commonly called Old South Sea Annuities Upon trust that they shall and do pay or cause to be paid all the clear Yearly Dividends and Interest thereof as the same shall from time to time arise and be received unto my loving Wife Mary Woodruff and her assigns and otherwise permit and suffer her and them to Receive and take the same for and during the term of her natural life to and for her own use and Benefit

And from and after the decease of my said Wife Mary Woodruff upon trust that they shall and do assign transfer and pay the said Sum of seven hundred pounds Annuity Stock and every part thereof unto and amongst my six Grand Children (That is to say)
unto the said Matthew William Sankey Fifty pounds
and unto Mary Hester Sankey two hundred pounds
unto Sarah Sankey one hundred pounds
unto Thomas Sankey one hundred pounds
unto Elizabeth Sankey one hundred pounds
and unto Frances Sankey one hundred pounds
to be paid and transferred to my said Grandchildren at his her or their respective Age or Ages of one and twenty Years
and Clear yearly Dividends and Interest hereof in the mean time from and after the decease of my said Wife to be and go to and for the maintenance Education and bringing up of my said Grandchildren respectively
and in case any one or more of them my said Grandchildren shall happen to die before his her or their age or ages of one and twenty Years then and in such case the part or share of him her or them so dying as well of the said Principal Sum of seven hundred pounds Annuity Stock as of the clear Yearly Dividends or Interest shall go and remain unto and amongst the Survivors and Survivor or others or other of them share and share alike as and when the Original Share or Shares of such Survivors or Survivor or other or others of them shall respectively become assignable transferable or payable

Provided always that in case all them my six Grandchildren shall happen to die under the said Age of one and twenty Years The my mind and Will is that the said Sum of seven hundred pounds Annuity Stock shall from thenceforth be and remain to my Son in Law Thomas Sankey of the City of Canterbury Tallow Chandler and I do moreover give and bequeath unto him the said Thomas Sankey the Sum of Twenty Pounds for Mourning

also I give and bequeath unto my said Grandson Matthew William Sankey my Silver Mug marked M W S
unto my said Granddaughter Mary Hester Sankey two silver Table spoons marked M H S
unto my said Granddaughter Sarah Sankey two other silver Table spoons marked S S
and unto my Grandson Thomas Sankey one large Silver Spoon
unto my Granddaughter Elizabeth Sankey one pair of Silver Salts marked T W
and unto my Granddaughter Frances Sankey one Silver Milk Pot marked S W
and I give all the rest of my Plate and also my Linnen and Bedding and also all other my Household Goods and Household Furniture whatsoever unto my said Wife to and for her own use and benefit

and as to all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore otherwise disposed of (after Payment of all my just Debts Funeral expences and the Charges of proving and executing this my Will) I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said Wife Mary Woodruff to and for her own use and benefit

and I make constitute and appoint my said Son in Law Thomas Sankey and my said Wife Mary Woodruff Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament
and lastly I revoke all former Wills by me made

In Witness whereof I the said Matthew Woodruff have hereunto set my hand and Seal to this my last Will and Testament the eighteenth day of September in the twenty second Year of the Reign of his Majesty King George the third by the Grace of God King of Great Britain France and Ireland Defender of the Faith etc. and in the Year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and eight two Matt: Woodruff
