  1. Researcher Dave Westenberger posted this this information on Rootsweb regarding the fact that Johannes Appel and Elizabeth Wagner were Maria Catherine's parents, but did not provide any references or sources. I regard all this as speculative.
  2. Church Records for Leihigh Church, Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh Co, Pa record a burial for " 11 Jul 1770, Johannes Appel, 79 yrs, less 3m, Saucon." I am only speculating that this is the same person who is the father of Maria Catherine. It is just a guess based on the name and and the fact that the age and region of the country is in the ball park. This is my basis for Elizabeth's residence.
