Sources: All of this information is based on the second hand research of others on Rootsweb.com. I view this as highly speculative. Even those researchers indicate that the John who married Catherine Server may not be the same John who is the son of this John listed in the Will abstract below. This is really just a guess based on the name, general age, and general region in which they lived. Other than the Will Abstract, it is unclear what the original source is for any of this information.

  1. Research citing the following will abstract: John Barndt, Rockhill Twp. (written (Bant) signed in German Barnd, probated as "Bandt.") August 15, 1803. Proved January 15, 1806. Wife Catharine. Sons Ludwig and Peter exrs. Son George 10. Son Peter Plantation on which he lives, partly in Rockhill and partly in Talford Twp., Montgomery Co. 97 acres. Sons John, Henry, Philip, Ludwig, Peter and George. Daus. Margaret, Catharine, Elizabeth, Christina, Susanna and Mary. Wits: Abraham Cressman, Henry Deets and Abraham Stout.
  2. I am just guessing John was a farmer based on the fact that he owned a 97 acre plantation listed in the Will Abstract above.
  3. Info from Hartzell-Price entry for Susanna Margeret Hartzell, who Peter Barndt in 1778 (transcript).
* One researcher lists a second wife: Rachel Keyser, married around 1782. However, since the will of 1806 only lists wife Catherine, I don't see how this is possible.
