  10. Unverified information from other researchers. Some of the information is consistent with census records.

* According to other researchers, Emma Moyer's parents were William Moyer and Malinda Sorver (or Sorber). After William died, Malinda married Benjamin Groff, who had previously been married to Cecilia Scheetz who is William Scheetz's half-sister.

** The SSDI does not have anyone named Ann Snyder who was born in April 1894. There are four from Aug. 1894. Two of them had SS cards issued in Pa: Anna Snyder b. 18 Aug 1894 d. Jul 1974 (Ellwood City, Lawrence, PA) 167-50-0621; and Anna snyder b. 27 Aug 1894 d. Dec 1969 (Belleville, Mifflin, PA) 191-12-6841.

*** Although Susan Walters provides this death date, no one named Sarah Hoffman died in Dec. 1987 according to the SSDI. It could be she remarried and had a different last name at time of death.

**** I have no specific information, but my inability to find anything about Mary beyond the 1870 Census leads me to believe she probably died as a young child. Her mother's 1900 Census record indicates that only 4 of her 5 children are still living. All the others were still alive. The note in fn.4 indicates only 4 of 5 still living. Based on its contents, it appears to have been written about the time of William's death in 1886. I am also skeptical of Mary's birthdate as it is only about three weeks after William and Catherine's marriage. Even a "shotgun" wedding probably would have taken place earlier in the pregnancy than that.
