This journey of genealogy began in 1992. My mother passed away that year and my way of grieving her death was to start to look into who I was and where I came from. All I started with was 2 or 3 names and one incident I remembered hearing her tell about when I was a child. During these years I have unfolded the lives of grandparents, great grandparents and even great great grandparents. It has been a journey of traveling to courthouses, cemeteries and hours upon hours of pouring over Georgia census's. Each time I "found" a clue, I began to feel a kinship towards those people. I have found distant cousins who are seeking their lineage also and our lives have blended together.
I want to thank each person along the way who helped, made trips with me and gave me new material to add to my collection. I hope I have given credit where credit was due. If I have overlooked anyone I apologize and would like to correct it if you would contact me.
My main goal was to make this into something many generations in the future can read and know where we came from. It has been an awesome journey and one that will never end. Please take these notes and add your family line to it and let it continue throughout your family. Feel free to copy anything I have put here - it is yours as well as mine. I would especially like to thank Margaret Turner from Australia who has become my friend even though we have never met face to face, we have met online. We met by doing genealogy for a distant cousin, then Margaret became my friend and it is she, who has spent countless hours putting this into a professional genealogy form. I will be forever grateful to her.
A personal note to those who come after me. I hope you will love this family as much as I have come to love these people. I never had grandparents, now I almost feel like I know them personally. I am a person who loves life and loves family but even more I love my Lord. This is where all of this will really end when we shall meet together and share our lives together in Heaven. I love you.
Each block (16) has a girl with a bonnet on. On the band of her bonnet has a name and her date of death and birth. At the bottom, her relationship to Jean.
