1. 1799 Broderick CHINNERY, of Flintfield, co. Cork, Esq., [c] 3d and yst s [d] of the Rev. George Chinnery of Midleton, co. Cork (will dat. 13 Jan 1753, pr. (I) 23 Apr 1755), by Eleanor, da of Dr. William Whitfield, and Catherine, his wife, sister of Alan (Broderick) 1st Viscount Midleton (I), da of Sir St John Broderick, was b probably about 1740; Barrister (Dublin) Easter 1793; MP (I) for Castlemartyr, 1783-90, and for Bandonbridge (two parls.) 1790-1800, being MP (UK) for Bandonbridge aforesaid (two parls.), 1801-06; Sheriff of co. Cork, 1789, and was cr a Baronet (I) as above 29 Aug 1799 [b] the privy seal being dated 12th of the same month. He m. firstly, Feb 1798, his cousin, Margaret, da. and h. of Nicholas Chinnery, of Flintfield aforesaid, by Barbara, da of Roger O'Callaghan, of Derrygallon, co. Cork. She d. 1 Oct 1783. He m. secondly, 2nd July 1789, Alice, 4th da of Robert Ball, of Youghal, co. Cork, by Mary, da of Bent Croker. He d. May 1808. Will dat. 17 July to 12 Sep 1807, pr (I) 19 Jan 1809 and (E) April 1809 and Nov 1834. His Widow who was b. 1780, d. 1833. Admon (I), 18 Jan 1834.

2. 1808 Sir Broderick CHINNERY, Baronet (I. 1799), of Flintfield aforesaid, 3d but 1st surv. s and h, being yst s. [e] by the 1st wife, b. 29 May 1779; suc to baronetcy, May 1808. He m. 25 Feb 1803, Diana Elizabeth, yst da of George Vernon, of Clontarf Castle, co. Dublin, by Elizabeth, relict of (--) Hughes, da of (--). She d. 16 June 1824. He d. 19 Jan 1840, aged 60. Will dat. 9 Jan 1840, pr. Feb 1840 and (I) 18 Mar 1841.

3. 1840 to 1868. Sir Nicholas CHINNERY, Baronet (I. 1799) of Flintfield aforesaid, and of 18 Hyde Park Sq., Paddington, only s and h., b. 7 July 1804 at Bath; ed at Queens Coll, Cambridge; BA 1826; MA 1829; in Holy Orders; suc to the Baronetcy, 19 Jan 1840. He m. 27 Mar 1843, at St Peter's, Dublin, his 1st cousin once removed, Anna, da of the Rev. John Vernon of Aubawn, co. Cavan, By Frances John Kearney, DD, Bishop of Ossory, 1806-13. She and he perished 20 Aug 1868, being (with Lord and Lady Farnham (I) and twenty-eight others) burned to cinders by an explosion on petroleum caused by a terrific accident on the London and North Western Railway, near Abergele, in North Wales, and were bur. there. On his death s.p.m. [a] aged 64 (20 Aug 1868 aforesaid), the Baronetcy became extinct

[b] This is the date given in Playfair's Baronetage, 1811, and, as it is the day after the creation of Smith, the royal warrant whereof was 10 Aug, two days before that for this creation, it seems most probable.
[c] The dates of creations and descriptions of Baronets (I) from 1791 to 1800 are supplied by G. D. Burtchaell fro the register of Baronets in the Office of Ulster King of Arms, Dublin. The privy seals were all dated at St Jamses's, the patents at Dublin.

[e] Of the two elder sons (1) Nicholas Chinnery, matric. at Oxford (Trin Coll) 15 Feb 1787, aged 18, d. unm, 1790 aged 21; (2) George Chinnery, d. Aug 1797 aged 23.
[a] Anne Elizabeth Frances Margaretta, his only da and h, m. 23 Aug 1864, James Robert Alexander Haldane, DD, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles, 1883-1906, who consequently, by royal lic., 29 July 1864, took the name Chinnery after that of Haldane. He, by a subsequent royal licence, 2 Sep 1878, took the said name of Chinnery before his patronmic of Haldane, and d. Feb 1906, aged 63, leaving issue.

The photographer and sometime actor Brodrick Vernon Chinnery Haldane (1912-1996) was a decendant of this family.
