Notes: In 1831,
Jane and her husband Alexis-Rene were one of the four founding families of
the town of St. Raymond de Portneuf, Quebec, Canada. On 25 May
1842, the parish
of St. Raymond Nonnat is dedicated.
We believe Jane sailed from Plymouth, England to Quebec, but have not
been able to
locate her on a ship's list. It is unknown whether she traveled with
her parents.
We have found a Jane Skinner christened 6 October 1805 at St. Saviour's
Church in
Southwark, London, England, but have not positively identified this
as the same Jane.
