Notes:
Margaret was baptized in early 1900's at St. Anne/St. Joseph Catholic
Church, which is
now Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The 1900
US Federal Census lists Margaret,
6 years old, living with her family at 2266 West 39th Street,
Chicago, Illinois.
The 1920 US Federal Census lists Margaret, Raymond
and Margaret's mother, Bridget,
living in a home at 2908 West 39th Street, Chicago, Illinois.
Bridget is listed as the head
of the household.
After Raymond's death in 1955, Margaret, her
son Maurice and his wife Ann jointly
purchased a home at 5201 West Berteau Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
Margaret lived in an
upstairs apartment until her death in 1971. The cause of
her death was massive stroke.
In her later years, Margaret claimed to have been suffering from
Parkinson's Disease, the
same disease her husband Raymond suffered from. This claim
was never verified.
Margaret's obituary reads: "Mulhern
- Margaret Mulhern, nee Kelly, beloved wife of
the late Raymond P.; dear mother of the Rev. Raymond F., Jack
(Ann) and Mary
Frances (Edward) Hegarty; fond sister of Sister M. Donata, C.S.J.,
and the late Sister
Theresa Vincent, C.S.J., Joseph and Thomas; grandmother of 18;
one great-grandchild.
Funeral Monday, 9:30am from Wm. C. Smith and Sons, Inc., 2500 N. Cicero
Ave., to
Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment Mount Carmel. Visitation
after 2pm Saturday.
Member of Our Lady of Victory Sodality and St. Angela Altar and
Rosary Society.
