Notes:       Marthe was one of 774 young women who were recruited to travel to Quebec
                for the purpose of providing wives to bachelor settlers. This program, funded by the
                Royal Treasury of France and supported by the King of France, became known as
                "Les Filles du Roi" or "The King's Daughters". The journeys took place between
                1663 and 1673. Most of the young women involved were orphans living in poor
                orphanages.
