Marie came to the United States with her family from Quebec
in 1881. The 1900 US
Federal Census listes Marie
and husband Michael living with his father at 4214 South
Artesian in Chicago, Illinois'
29th Ward.
Marie contracted pneumonia
while walking to her son Richard's baptism. She died
shortly thereafter. Richard,
who also became ill the same time, survived a little more
than a month after Marie's
death. Her obituary reads: "Mulhern, Mary, wife of Michael
P. Mulhern. Funeral Nov.
30, from 4214 S. Artesian Ave. to St. Joseph's Church,
at 9:30am, thence by cars to
Mount Olivet." 29 November 1903 Chicago Tribune
Marie is buried at Mount Olivet
Cemetery, 2755 West 111th Street, Chicago, Illinois, lot
103, block 41.
