Notes:        Maurice was a Chicago police officer for 19 years (1892-1911) and a member of the
                    Policemen's Benevolent Association.

The 1900 US Federal Census lists Maurice, Bridget and children living at 2266 West
                    39th Street in Chicago, Illinois.

Official cause of Maurice's death is listed as carcinoma of the liver.  His final residence
was 2908 West 39th Street in Chicago, Illinois.

According to Marilyn Kelly, a great-grandaughter of Maurice, the Kelly family lived on
Queen Street* in Limerick City.  Maurice's daughter Frances (Sister Donata) wrote a
letter to Marilyn's family detailing some of the family's history.  According to Sister
Donata, she and her two older siblings were born in Ireland and the family came to
                    the US in 1890.

*Queen Street is now Davis Street.  It was changed after the Easter Rising, named
                    after Thomas Davis.

We have an IL marriage certificate for a Maurice Kelly and Bridget Hays, with their
ages matching those reported in later census records.  Since no Maurice and Bridget
Kelly are found in the 1880 IL census, we are assuming that they came to the US
during the 1870's, met and married in 1879, went back to Ireland sometime between
their marriage and the 1880 census, then returned to Chicago in 1890.

However, in checking the Limerick City records from Griffith's Valuation taken in the
1850's, there was a Kelly family and a Hayes family living on Queen Street.  So it is
also possible that the marriage certificate we have is for another Maurice Kelly and
Bridget Hayes, and they grew up as neighbors, married in Ireland, and then came to
                    the US in 1890.
