In the name of God, Amen. I, George W. Coffin, of Cortland, Dekalb County, state of Illinois, being of sound mind and memory blessed by the Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament,

I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Helen all my household furniture, and all the rest of my personal property after paying from the same my funeral expenses and obligations held by Edward and Alexander Coffin, to be hers forever.

I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife Helen my house and lot in Cortland, DeKalb county, state of Illinois, after five years from next April, the place to be rented for that term of time, and the rent to apply on a mortgage on the said place now held by Matilda Coffin my mother, if said mortgage shall not be paid at the end of the five years, it is to be rented until the mortgage is satisfied, to be hers forever.

I also give, devise, and bequeath to my wife Helen and Matilda, Edward, Alexander, Joseph R. Coffin and Catherine Waterman all the rest of my real estate situated in Illinois and Wisconsin states to be equally divided among them to be theirs forever.

I do nominate and appoint Joseph R. Coffin to be the sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and decree this to be my last will and testament in presence of the witnesses named below this twentieth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven.

Signed - George W. Coffin
