MY NOTES:
- Wesley W. Barr (and wife Mabel), and Edward W. Barr (and wife Maud), filed quit-claims, sold their rights to the estate to Springfield Attorneys Joseph H. Story and Henry A. Converse.
- It is unclear whether the estate was probated according to the Will of Algernon Farr. It appears that his wife Ardelia was not satisfied to only own the property during her lifetime, but wanted to be able to leave something for her nieces and nephews, and so perhaps claimed her rights according to the state of Illinois.
- Algernon's sister Mary Farr married Hiram Barr on 29 Jan 1849 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence, New York. In 1850 Hiram and Mary and their 6 month old son Melancthon are living with Hirams parents, Elisha and Laura Barr, in Champion, Jefferson, New York. In 1860, 10 year old Melancthon is alone with his grandparents in Jefferson, New York.
