MY NOTES:
  • The will also mentions Jane Coffin, widow of Ardelia's brother Wellington. Jane died (childless) before Ardelia Farr.

  • The will mentions Mary R. Mead, who was the daughter of Ardelia's sister Abigail Waterman (Coffin) Rowley, and widow of Frank J. Mead. Mary died 4 Apr 1910. Her portion went to her children Frank R. Mead, Ottilie (Mead) Messick, and Margaret (Mead) Anderson.

  • The will mentions Margaret (Mead) Anderson, who died before Ardelia. her portion went to her daughter Ernestine Anderson.

  • John H. Roberts and Fanny Roberts Levison appear to be children of a sister of Ardelia who died before 1850 (maybe Liza Ann?). Fanny (Frances L.) Roberts appears as a 10-year old girl in the 1850 census with Ardelia and Ardelia's mom Nancy. The California Death Index shows a Fanny L. Levison who died 11 Sep 1929 in Santa Clara County at age 89. It seems from the 1910 census of San Francisco, CA that John Roberts was born around 1842, but he does not appear with Ardelia and (his sister?) Frances in 1850.

  • I haven't discovered the relationship between Ardelia (Coffin) Farr and either Theodore Reichert or Frank J. Coffin. The California Death Index shows a Theodore Reichert who died 9 Jul 1910 at age 68 in San Francisco. This would mean he was born around 1842, which matches the 1900 and 1910 censuses of San Francisco, assuming I am looking at the right Theodore Reichert. It appears he married a woman named Ida K. (last name unknown) around 1905.

  • While Frank J. Coffin appears on this list as an heir and legatee, he does not appear in the will, neither does the probate file show that he received anything from the estate of Ardelia Farr. I could not specifically identify a Frank J. Coffin in New York City in 1910 or 1920.
