John and Isaac Churchill, nephews of Anna Churchill

The book, "The Churchill family in America", indicates that Anna's brother Edward had two sons that moved to and died in Herkimer County, John and Isaac. The book, "History of Herkimer County" (Nathaniel S. Benton, 1856), names eleven men that came to Newport, Herkimer, New York between 1795 and 1798, two of which were Edward Coffin and John Churchill.

In the 1790 census of Herkimer, Montgomery, New York, Edward Coffin is living near Isaac Churchill. In the 1800 census of Newport, Herkimer, New York, Edward Coffin (age >45, born before 1755) is living next to John Churchill.

Biography of Morse H. Coffin

Morse H. Coffin, son of Jacob Coffin (& Mary Ann Hull), son of Isaac Coffin (& Eleanor Fryer), son of John Coffin (& Marya Van Tassel), son of Isaac Coffin (& Anna Churchill). Morse's great-grandfather was John Coffin, so this would indicate that Edward was Morse's great-grandfather's brother.:

"Edward Coffin (supposed to be our subject's great-grandfather or his brother) was a member of the colonial army during the Revolution, and one of his powder horns is a prized souvenir, now in the possession of our subject. Isaac Coffin, our subject's grandfather, was born at Fishkill, N. Y., in 1773, and was a farmer and hotel keeper throughout his active life; he died February 9, 1839."
