Patron and Composer Elizabeth Firestone Willis, a patron of the arts and a composer, died of heart failure Wednesday at Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was 67 years old and lived in Washington.

Mrs. Willis, whose grandfather, Harvey S. Firestone Sr., founded the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, had been a member of the National Council of the Metropolitan Opera Association and a trustee of the Archives of American Art and the New England Conservatory of Music.

In recent years, Mrs. Willis, a pianist, devoted herself to jazz, making appearances with Mel Torme, Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa and B. B. King. Most recently, in collaboration with Mr. Hampton, she wrote "The George Bush Election Theme."

In Dwight D. Eisenhower's Presidential campaigns she served as musical coordinator.

She began her career composing music for children's broadcasting.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Firestone of Akron and Newport, R.I.; a daughter, Elizabeth Leatherman of Boston, and two sisters, Martha Ford of Detroit and Anne Ball of Greenwich, Conn.

In 1954, she married Charles F. Willis Jr., the founder of Alaska Airlines. They were divorced in 1973.

Elizabeth Firestone Willis, 67, a pianist and composer who wrote film scores, classical and jazz compositions and music for several political campaigns, died Oct. 18 at a hospital in Pittsburgh, where she was undergoing medical treatment. The nature of her ailment was not reported

In 1952, she was a musical coordinator for the Dwight D. Eisenhower campaign. She wrote the words and music for "We Need Nixon," a 1972 campaign song for Richard M. Nixon's reelection campaign. In 1988, she collaborated with Lionel Hampton to write the theme music for George Bush's campaign. She also wrote the film scores for "Once More My Darling" and "The Man From Tangiers."

Mrs. Willis was born in Akron, Ohio, a granddaughter of Firestone Rubber Co. founder Harvey S. Firestone. She was a graduate of Foxcroft School in Middleburg and studied piano at Columbia University.

In the early 1950s, she performed as a soloist in London and New York. She had appeared with Johnny Mercer, Mel Torme and Lionel Hampton. She had written for radio and televison and had done musical compositions for children's broadcasting.

Mrs. Willis had lived in Washington since 1954. She was a member of the New England Conservatory of Music and the National Council of the Metropolitan Opera Association. She was a trustee of the Archives of American Art.

Her marriage to Charles F. Willis Jr. ended in divorce.
