Many sources indicate that Catherine predeceased Joseph and that Renolds Kellison then married Joseph and cared for his children. It is believed this is not true and the Reynolds Kellison was male and married Joseph's widow.

Joseph Firestone, second son of Nicholas and Catharina (Nunnenmacher) Feyerstein, was born at Thal 7 May 1737, and died near Lovettsville, Loudoun County, Virginia, shortly before 6 October 1792. After 1764 he married Catharina [--], presumed to be the mother of all his children.
As Joseph Feuerstein, single man, he witnessed the baptism at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in York, Pa., of a daughter of his sister Catharina Stautzenberger 26 February 1764. Joseph was named among the heirs of Nicholas Firestone of Paradise Township, York County, Pa., 1768-1770. By deed dated 3 May 1771 Joseph Firestone of Paradise Township, farmer, paid £150 to his older brother Nicholas for a 159-acre part of their late father's farm in Paradise Township. The tract was surveyed for Joseph on April 1771, and Joseph sold it to Conrad Doll for £300 on 15 June 1771. On 14 November 1771 Joseph purchased from George Smith a 128 acre tract in Cumberland Township, York [now Adams] County, Pa. Of Cumberland Township, yeoman, Joseph sold the tract to Robert Bigham on 8 January 1780. In 1780 he was taxed in Cumberland Township for 100 acres, three cattle, and two horses.
The family then settled in Loudoun County, Virginia, where Joseph was first taxed in 1782, and where he and wife Catharina Feuerstein were members of the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church at Lovettsville, in which church several of their children were baptized. He was taxed for personal property in the First Battalion of Loudoun County in 1787 (four horses, ten cattle), 1788 and 1789 (five horses). On 1 March 1789 he leased 100 acres in Loudoun County, which tract he obtained by a judgment of award.
On 6 October 1792, Joseph having died in Loudoun County, his estate was inventoried by Thomas Taylor, Adam Shover, and Isaac Richie, with an appraised value of £151.16.0, including £60 for his "place, lease for 2 lives." By deed dated 1 January 1795, John McBright, administrator of Firestone's estate, conveyed to Peter Richey Joseph's 100-acre leased lot for £137; witnesses: Adam Shover, Reynolds Kellison, John Houldbridge, and Isaac Richie. At Loudoun County Court 12 April 1796 John McBride, administrator, filed his account of the estate of Joseph Firestone, listing £109.15.2 "amount of the sale" [auction], including 24 sh. paid by Runals Callaston (for a hog and a saddle), and leaving a balance of £31.16.10"to be paid to Runals Kellison who intermarried with the widow Firestone, which we have agreed to be her right as she brought no charge for keeping and cloathing the children.
The widow Catharina Firestone's second husband Runnels Kellison was head of household in Middletown District #3 in Frederick County, Maryland, in 1800, he aged 26-44, with wife aged over 45, one male 16-25, one boy 10-15, and one boy under 10. In the 1810 census R. Kellison was head of family in Frederick County, he and wife aged 45 or more, with one male 16-25, girl 10-15, and boy under 10. By deed dated 26 March 1813 in Loudoun County, John, Peter, Eli, Mary, and Catherine (wife of John) Divers and John McBright, administrator of Joseph Firestone, conveyed property to Samuel Dunkin; witnesses: Reynolds Kellison, John Stoutsberger, and Isaac Richie.
