Benjamin Hodge Senr who being sworn upon the Holy Evangelist of
Almighty God saith that he was personally aquainted with Lazarus
Rieves in the Revolutionary War, that said Rieves and deponent
sevred served in the regular Service under Colonel Thompsons
command and under Captain Robert Goodwyn, two several terms of
service, the first six months and the second eighteen months
that they were in the Battle at Sullevans Island near Charleston
in South Carolina and several skirmishes that said Rieves served
out his time until offically discharged sworn to and subscribed
to his before me the 22nd augt 1827 Benj X Hodge Sen Benj Rawls
