Prior to 1750 he moved from Caroline County to Amherst and later
to Albermarle County, VA. He died 1749 in Westmoreland County,
VA. His Will was destroyed but record of its presentation to
Court on 8 Sept 1749 by Ann Penn, wife exists. It was again
presented to Court by Moses Penn in Feb 1756 and he was replaced
in 1760.
George Penn was granted land in 1728 in St. Mark's Parish. He
witnessed the will of Ambrose Madison in 1732; After his death
in 1755 his widow Ann married Thomas Dudley; Penn children in
her will of 1794 were Frances, b 1735 and married Ambrose Lee;
George, b 1737, Philip, Gabriel, Abram, William, and Moses.

to one Wm. Russell by deeds July 7, 1724, and by the sd. Russell
sold to Thomas Chew, on a branch running into Mattapony River,
otherwise called Warner's River, joining the lands of Robt.
Hutcherson and the land of Augustine Smith of Gloster Co., late
called Augustine Warner, Esqr., Decd., land. Witnesses: Wm.
Johnson, John Chew, James Taylor. Rec. March 6, 1727-8. Martha
Chew, wife of Thomas Chew, released her dower to the above land
to the sd. John and George Penn.

CIRCUIT COURT RECORDS, SECTION "I." JUDGMENTS. page 210 George
Braxton devised to his son Carter Braxton (whose widow Elizabeth
is) 2,500 acres in Goochland (Amherst), patented to George 25th
November, 1743. Defendants are holders of parts of this tract
and Elizabeth seeks to recover dower in the lands. These
defendants added, viz: William Cabell, John Penn, James Savage,
Sophia and Wm. Lee, infants of Francis Lee, deceased; Seaton M.
Penn, Charles B., Elizabeth, Polly, Joseph Penn, infants of
Joseph Penn, deceased. James Watson answers, he purchased from
Carter Braxton in 1776. Alleges a marriage settlement between
Carter and Elizabeth. William Warrick answers ditto, he bought
of William and George Penn, Jr., who were devisees of their
father, George Penn, Sr., who was devisee of Ambrose Lee,
deceased, who is supposed to have bought from George Braxton.
