I, too, have not been able to connect the Greenwood branch to Edward. But there are some tantalizing possibilities. For instance, Edward Blake sold property to Blake Leay, a descendant of the John Blake who got a land warrant in 1711--and sold it for a dollar. That sounds suspiciously like a family deal to me! "His Will was dated 27 Mar 1837 and recorded in Emanuel Co. in Jan 1841. His wife was Mary "Polly" UNK - born 1770/1780; died after 1841. Up to this point, no one has determined a definite connection between the 2 Jonathans. However, the facts that they both lived in Burke County and they both had sons named Elisha and Lindsay (the older Jonathan had a William Lindsay), convince me that there must be a close connection. Earlier this week I found a submission at FamilySearch that listed the parents of "my" Jonathan as Lindsay
Coleman (born abt 1756 in VA) & Lucy Penn. This Lindsay was the son of Robert Coleman (born abt 1721; died Dec 1795 in Orange Co., VA) & Elizabeth Lindsay (born 29 Mar 1724 in VA)."
