Mother: Elizabeth DUPUY |
(CHARLOTTE COUNTY,VIRGINIA)
court order book # 7,page 126.
"1787. October 1st; Anthony Hundley made oath that his son,
ELIJAH HUNDLEY is the eldest surviving Brother of ANTHONY
HUNDLEY who died a Soldier in the Army. ELIJAH is entitled to
the wages of his Brother".
However interpreted, this proves that ANTHONY HUNDLEY of
Charlotte county had sons named, ELIJAH & ANTHONY......the later
died in the war.
We know Anthony of Charlotte county was the father of a son
named CHARLES (born in 1758) who married ANN ELIZABETH ESTES.
Therefore, we have a HUNDLEY with three sons by the same names
of the Grandsons in Peter Dupuy's Will in 1773 and, in the same
sequence of ages suggested by Dupuy's Will."
(189p.):13, 14 Historical reg. Of Virginians in the Rev.,
soldiers, sailors and marines, 1775-1783. Ed. By John H.

Anthony Hundley, Jr., served in the 6th Virginia Regiment,

before the Charlotte Co. Court, swearing "that his son Elijah
Hundley was the eldest surviving brother of Anthony dec'd, who
died a soldier of the United States to the South...", on which
the court ordered that Elijah was entitled to the wages of his
brother. He was named a grandchild in Peter DuPuy's 1773 will
but not in his wife's 1783 will."
"Interestingly, my 5th & Revolutionary war Great-Grandfather,

6th Virginia Regiment. This company was previously commanded by
Captain Thomas Hutchins & raised in Pittsylvania county, Va Pvt.
GEORGE HUNDLEY joined the Continental Army, January 28th, 1777
