On 11 August 1685, John Wheeler for natural love and affection
he hath towards his daughter, Winnifred, the wife of John
Speaks, deeds to the said John Speake a tract of land called
Plymouth, in Charles County, Maryland, containing 350 acres,
standing by a fork of Piscataway Creek.
When Prince George County, Maryland was formed, that tract
became part of the new county as the following deed indicates:
"4 Dec. 1722 John Speake and Winnifred his wife, and John
Speake, Jr. for 20 pounds sterling and 450 pounds of tobacco,
sell to John Cade, a parcel of land called Plymouth, in Prince
georges County, containing 140 acres, originally patented to
John Wheeler, 14 June 1675."
They had at least one child: John Speakes, Jr."
