(3), Thomas (2)) lived in Amherst. Will probated December 2,
1782. He left a good estate to "my loving wife" and seven
children, as follows: Solomon (had a grant for land in Amherst
in 1793); Peter; Dale; Job, Jr. (had a grant of 290 acres in
Amherst in 1789); Elizabeth Dawson; Nancy Vaughn; and William,
who was the executor."

Carrier Co., 1982. Page 226-227. From Prayer Book of Peter
Carter: "Job [born] on ye 1st Jan'y 1734"....Job Carter born Jan
1, 1734, probably in King George county, died in Nov. 1782 in
Amherst--will probated Dec. 2, 1782. He left land and a good
personal estate to wife (unnamed) and their seven children :
a.Solomon (had a grant in Amherst in 1793); b. Peter;
c. Dale; d . Job (had grant in Amherst for 290 acres in 1789);
e. Elizabeth Dawson; f. Nancy Vaughn; g. William, who was
executor. The sons are said to have descendants in Nelson
county, VA."
Information from Van A. Stilley, Wilmington, NC. "Job (Will
probate d2 Dec 1782). Born 1 Jan 1733/4, in King George Co., VA;
died Nov 1782, in Amherst Co., VA. He married, first, Sarah Rob,
11 Jan 1768 ,in Lancaster Co., VA. He married, second, Judieth
Harris, 21 Jul 1778, in Lancaster Co., VA."
