bought of James Tosmer, to him and his heirs of his body
lawfully begotten forever but in failue of such, I - - - - give
the same fifty acres of land to my loving brother Merritt More
and his heirs forever.}

Moore - Elizabeth City Co., VA.
This is the will of Augustine, Son of William who was the son of
Captain Augustine Moore. (Ref: Book 3, Wills 1701 - 1859, pg 308
- Will of Augustine Moore November 7, 1793, proved 26 June
1795).
I, Augustine Moore of Elizabeth City county being in perfect
health and memory, thanks be to the Almighty God for the same,
do make and ordain this my last will and testement in the form
following.
Item ... I lend unto my loving wife Ann Moore the plantation I
now live on with the purtinacies ??? during her life and after
he decease. I give unto my son William Moore and his heirs
forever, the provision that he will give my son Augustine Moore
the fifty acres of land I formaly gave him, be it more or less
with the purtenances ??? there unto belonging and in case my son
William Moore will non comply with this my request, then I give
my son Augustine Moore the aforesaid plantation, lent to my
loving wife Ann Moore during her life to him and his heirs with
the provision he will pay to my son Merritt Moore the sum of
fifty pounds currenty money of Virginia, after my decease.
Item ... I lend unto my loving wife Ann Moore, all my negroes
that I shall died possessed of, during her life and after her
decease and my debts are paid the remander to be equally divided
between my son Merritt Moore, my son John Moore and my daughter
Ann Moore (King) and my daughter Jane Moore (Sweney).
Item ... I lend unto my loving wife Ann Moore, all my personal
estate whatsover during her life and after he decease to go to
to the payment of all my debts. Lastly I do hereby nomonate and
appoint my loving wife Ann Moore to be my executor and my son
William Moore and my son Merritt Moore to be my excutors of this
my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all
former will or wills heretofore by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and affixed my
seal this ninth day of November, anno Domino, one thousand seven
hundred and ninty three.
Signed, Sealed, Published, Aug. Moore and delivered by the
testator to be his last will and testament in presence of Roscow
Parson, Jenny Parsons, Mary Parsons, Elizabeth City County Court
June 26th 1795 - - - and presented in court and proved by the
presents of Roscow Parsons and Jane Parsons two of the witnesses
aforesaid there unto I ordered to be recorded."
